Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

because waaah waaah my american planes arent better than russian ones!!!

americans would cry that its op

just look at su25sm3, do you lack common sense

If they do ,it will be another Russian bios version.

this is what i mean

Which means it’s mk 1 eyeball.
Just like a targeting pod extends the range of AGM-65D from ~8km to 20km [at least when the IR locked position, dunno if it still does].
The same goes for Soviet tech tree CAS.
If you don’t have a thermal targeting pod, you’re shafted, which is why everyone complains about Su-25SM3 despite it being just another meta CAS, and not even among the first 10 meta CAS of its class.

This has nothing to do with common sense, I don’t think it’ll get nerfed.

but it is gaijin.so I cannot use my common sense to guess their behavior.

SU-25SM3 isn’t that good to be in 12.7 with F-16C, it’s overrated because it doesn’t need to fight with Pantsir.
It is also US bias when complaining about CAS.
Though I do agree Pantsir problem need to be fixed before adding more advanced CAS to any TT.

without TGP it’s more like less than 6km, because you can’t see anything clear. it’s lock range of ground target is about 12km, may farther when lock on large targets like Pantsir. locked position mode isn’t thar useful

bud

the fix to pantsir is to add better cas

in turn russia gets a better pantsir

so you are the one without common sense.
The AIR-GROUND balance is breaking, and you are thinking about breaking it faster.

The leaks that have been accurate thus far would indicate otherwise.

Besides, Germany doesn’t need a Polish subtree, nor would it make much sense. Britain makes more sense to host Poland, assuming it MUST be a subtree.

Wouldn’t that preclude it from implementation? And the type 11 came out in the 2010s iirc, so that should be fine for a 12.0 AA.

To an extent, but even then it should still be logical. Even with the friendlier ASEAN nations it’s a big stretch, all of ASEAN wouldn’t make sense. Vietnam has no place in the Japanese TT, and at that point you might as well do a Brazil or Turkey sub instead.

Like I don’t think an ASEAN TT would make sense either, there is no world where you can convince me all of ASEAN should go to Japan.

Giving Russian a Thor M1 and remove Pantsir S1 would solve 90% percent on imbalance between CAS/SPAA. And then do another br change for balance to solve the problem of Su25sm3.

I will always state this whenever there is a quarrel over Pantsir S1 XD

Same idea as SK for Japan

This is a reminder that I’ve yet to die to Pantsir while doing CAS runs.
Pantsir is not some OP SPAA, it’s no where near OP; it’s barely ineffective.
The only reason Pantsir gets frags is aircraft not using CAS tactics.

CAS is unkillable in 12.0 ground, not just OP, flat out unkillable unless you bring a fighter.

OSA will hopefully close that gap a bit if it’s being added this update.

Hope aircraft dev blog, or vapour effects… I really want my vapours

Though I think, if so, su-25sm3 need to go down, similar to AV-8B+, subsonic speed, good energy generation, 4 IR F&F.
SM3 gets faster AGM, while AV-8B+ gets radar and AIM-120, seems fair. correct me if there are any problem.

it only can fix Flarakrad problem. it worse than Ito-90m, it’s missile is quite slow

yea im sure it would buddy

then remove f16c too

i bet youre also one of those that zombies their way to the battlefield only to be killed by a pantsir soon after and complain because “muh 1 click kill is no longer possible”

what do you think is gonna happen later

balance will shift to russia in air defense(it already is) and air superiority to US

and dont forget that modern jets are just exports of US and RU jets you big brain

the game is already becoming mono(idk how to say this lol)

Nope, we have SAM in game already that lacks search radar and is limited to 4 missiles. These are negatives of the vehicle, but don’t stop it from functioning.

It’s certainly a good SAM, but still has about 25% less range than a Patsir, only 4 missiles and no search radar. SPYDER would still have those last issues, but with longer ranged missiles and more agile Python 5.

Keep in mind the game won’t end at 12.0 either. Israel will (hopefully) get SPYDER AIO at some point which is an even better SAM with more missiles and radar. So a SPYDER SR is a nice way to keep up just a little better with the ranges of weaponry thrown around.

Good, because I don’t think all of ASEAN should go to Japan.

Japan should only get nations that are both friendly towards Japan and have generally NATO aligned militaries, like Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. Nations like Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia would be more reasonable in the Chinese tree.

Vietnam I am really not sure since they do have mostly eastern equipment, but the strongest opinions on China I have heard in my life come from Vietnamese. Maybe Russia, though I’m not sure they need a subtree considering we are very much in the phase of making smaller nations catch up to the likes of Russia.

I would prefer giving a better modified Su24 to Rus, with a thermal pod and more kh29t. Buuuuuut… It appeared during the conflict between Rus and Ukr, so there is no chance we are seeing it in game.
