Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

It’s easy to add “stealth mechanics”, radars can differentiate between a big plane like a bomber and a fighter, it’s already implemented in the game, just reduce the size of the default fighter and you have your stealth mechanics for the f117

When F-117 gets stealth, its playstyle doesn’t change.
Cause in ground RB IR locks it, and in air RB radar doesn’t exist to begin with [outside Vautour] cause it’s not going to be at those BRs due to how slow it is.

@CREELAST
What video game did you program stealth in?

I reckon f-117 will be an event aircraft. Sometime mid next year.

@alviswisla
Are you aware that you can tell how big the plane is by the line that appears on the radar?

the signature of the planes is implemented, they just have to reduce it further and that’s it.

I think it will be more like reduce the detect and lock range of radar. any way

so useful or not doesn’t matter

IRL =/= in-game.
RCS is not in-game at this time let alone other features that stealth needs to be in-game about.

I think to proper implement stealth, we need to introduce RCS concept in the game? Say, a plane should be stealthier from the front than from the back.

Subtree would serve to cover gaps that Japan has, even with Thailand, there will still be some gaps (mainly in terms of anti-aircraft) I believe that 1 or 2 more nations as a sub tech tree would help to cover the gaps

Dude, if you want to implement a more elaborate mechanic, I understand, but you can introduce the F117 by just reducing its radar signature, making it smaller than the common fighter, and you already have your “stealth” mechanic, think a bit is not that hard.
And that mecaninc is in the game, compare how far away you can see a Tu4 on your radar with a MiG29

We also need S-125 btw

Tu-4 shows up at the exact same distance as F-20/F-16.

I’m not an expert on German aircraft, but from what I understand, they literally have nothing they can add until the either the next BR or tier.

Italy and Hungary had extensive military and political ties during WW2, and have extensive political and military relations now. While I am no expert, their relationship with China, given how they use exclusively western equipment and the reaction to the possible inclusion as a Chinese subtree, I would lean towards no.

Ongoing theory is that Gaijin is adding it so they can make a solid stealth system before adding in stealth fighters. We KNOW that they will eventually put them in, and they have tested systems in the past through events. Given how the F-117 won’t break either ground or air after it’s added, Gaijin may have decided that they may as well make some money while working on implementing the stealth system.

It being a squadron vehicle is, honestly, perfect. It allows you to pay for it or grind it out depending on how much you want it, and you don’t have to play it.

Nah, they just need equivalents. The Typhoons came out in the 2000s, and I find it hard to believe NATO nations would buy em if the Super Hornet could destroy them.

And what AA options do Singapore and Indonesia have that would cover meaningful gaps? Yeah, they could get some possible 10.0 AA, but that’s about it to my understanding, and not particularly needed when they don’t have any 10.0 tanks.

I wasn’t referring to these 2 nations specifically, but rather to ASEAN in general.

For example you can probably see the Tu4 at 100km, while the smaller plane can be seen at 80km. I don’t know the exact numbers, but that mechanics exist. Larger aircraft such as bombers appear at a much greater distance than smaller aircraft in war thunder. I remember watched it on a video

We’d need an S-125 Neva/Pechora battery. Is it at all possible to make that happen?

EDIT: It was shot down by an S-75 Dvina. I don’t think that was ever put on a mobile chassis.

DOUBLE EDIT: I need to actually do research. I was right the first time!

And what would those AA vehicles be? Even for major nations with robust MiCs, they have remarkably big gaps in their AA coverage. I doubt there would be any AA better (in BR) then the dusters that could be taken from west aligned ASEAN, barring the M163 that Thailand has and bolting MANPADS to cars.

That is same for Chinese tech tree.Gaijin should buff those ZTZ99A,ZTZ99A(prototype),and VT4A1 instead of add c&p vehicles.If a new MBT is needed,adding M1A2T and ZTZ99A(with APS) is still a better choice.

Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore use Israeli SPYDER, with Philippines and Vietnam using the MR version and Singapore the SR version, Vietnam uses Strela-10, in addition to that they also used the ZSU-23-4M which would help replace the Type93.

maybe tonguska from myamar could also help (also said to be pantsir but there is no proof of this)

I do wonder if the su34 would go after the Su27SM or the Su25SM3
