not with the seeker in the missile so its IR

no again

Fox 1 is the nato code for SARH missiles, does the Python 5 require a constant radar guidance from the launching platform?

but it should have a receiver like SARHs and ARHs to get information from main radar

MICA IR with it’s 50-60 km of range:

No, but nor does it not

I want proof

But datalink is quite litterally just a means of connecting different locations/objects.

So a radar (object 1) connecting and feeding information to a missile (object 2) would still be datalink.

I mean ZA is not exactly on friendly terms with the UK or the Commonwealth either.

It seems so far WW2 is all that’s considered when using a sub-tree for Gaijin.

if you take the word “datalink” yes but the action itself in a military space, it means that 2 radars try finding a thing and also like lock it up having as back up the other radar

If it’s seeker is homing IR signatures its a IR missile, being able to give it orders via a data link doesn’t turn it into a ARH or SARH

= stronger radar

No. Data linking is literally just that, linking data between devices

medium range IR missile = MRIRM

new word

Even post-war we still see British technology in the South African forces tho.

Tanks such as Olifant that is derived from Centurion and things such as Buccaneer. It’s more than just WW2 at the very least, though I do agree that they were a poor choice for the UK.

its not the same ARH have their own seeker that homes on to the enemy aircraft

Data link just tells it the rough area and when its close enough the seeker locks

The seeker on the missiles is always used

If data link was the only thing needed to guide a missles it would have no seeker

Radar slaving is gaining a lock while it’s on the rail with assistance from the radar, so yes the R-27ET can do that, R-60 even.
But I think it’s different to what he’s referring, seems he mixed some things up possibly. I believe he’s talking about LOAL and guidance assistance with datalink from the radar for much later generations of missiles.

Even better : Indonesian test showed that’s it’s even 70km reliable against a viper.

Afaik :

Magic 2 < Python 4 < Python 5 = IRIST < MICA IR

there was a talk about having datalink in WT and people were talking about how potentially russia already have datalink possibilities

4 another fighter aircraft from ROCAF, 3 AIDC F-CK-1 and Mirage 20005EI located before F-16A Block 20 MLU ?
