We are getting split BRs next update if im not mistaken
yea expected to arrive in june
Of course the Skyflash isn’t on par with the R-27ER, nothing is. It’s still good enough to be effective even in an environment filled with AIM-7Ms and R-27s.
The Gripen would have absolutely dominated at 12.0. It has a much better flight performance than the 12.0 planes, it has a way better radar, more countermeasures (large caliber as well) and the same amount of pylons as the competition. The only thing I would consider worse is the gun, but thats only because of the lower ammo count.
Honestly imo there aren’t enough jets in the world to make the transition in capabilities of jets smooth in the game, especially not to balance 10 nations… This is bound to happen - Just wait until Eurofighter and Rafale arrives lol
I agree with you that it’s natural for different countries to have their time as capabilities progresses. It’s not possible to completely balance everything and make every country progress at the same capabilities when every country has gaps in certain technologies.
Hoping, coping and praying.
Get out of here with that dumpster fire of a take lol
You say that, as if the damn thing doesn’t arrive before anything else.
No I get that. But my point is if Multipathing is removed, avoiding the damn things is gonna be a whole lot harder because now you can’t just fly low and magically be fine.
Don’t get me wrong I think removing Multipathing is honestly not a terrible solution, albeit I’m not entirely convinced, but currently, aside from the Phoenix (and we all know what that thing is like) there’s nothing comparable in the range department.
My original comment is made under the premise that Multipathing does get removed.
Imagine if they would split BR not only by mode but by armament taken too… Unfortunately no way they will do it. :/
Yeah but we can agree gaijin adding the f14 with no competition was dumb.
Have you tried the Skyflash DF?
I always fly with 2 Skyflashes on my SAAF Gripen, I have played the Tornado F.3 lots and I did fly the Phantom FG.1 a fair bit, so yeah, I have tried it.
Hey its fine to like the goofy ahh gr.3 harrier nose but i prefer the gr.1 nose rather than having a pringles can mounted to the front. Its like the F4E having the nicer long nose rather than the short stubby nose of the phantoms without the internal gun.
I’ve flown it a ton as well on the Viggen, the statement: “Effective in an environment filled with aim7m and 27’s” is shocking to me lol. I don’t know what to say… Terrible range, high drag. I’d rather take like pretty much any other missile at top tier, IR or SARH
Remind me how many JAS39 players use those?
That’s not what competitive means. In what world does F-16A ADF have remotely comparable flight performance to JAS39?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but AFAIK the matchmaker rules still apply. If 12.7 JAS39A with no ARH were to be getting dragged into a hypothetical 13.3 matchmaker of ARH, there can’t be more than 4 13.3 planes per team since they are second highest BR. ARH still won’t be so capable as IRCCM RB M74 and ~700 flares.
Ill say it they arent bad, but i only use them with 8km if im at altitude. 7F’s just feel better but not keeping at least one skylfash is a bad idea. Id say the whole reason the viggen stayed 11.0 is because of the poor flight model and abhorent damage model, but mainly only having 2 skyflashes.
Damn. It really is a suprise, but a pleasant one at that.
From what I’ve heard the Viggens radar really isn’t great.
If my only experience with the Skyflash was on a Spey Phantom I would probably share your opinion, but paired with a good radar like that on the Tornado F.3 or the Gripen they work great in close to mid range.
They lock chaff from the front for no reason, its a 50/50. Its frustrating to get it to lock and sometimes they hold well and sometimes they break from the slightest movements. Idk if id say its better then the 11.3 phantom radars but its definitely worse then the tornados.
I don’t know how its radar is tracking long range missiles, since there’s barely any point in launching its sky flash past 10 kilometres head-on anyways, other than that it’s radar is pretty good for situational awareness.
I’m also a sim player, there’s no world where you’d ever pick a sky flash over the invisible aim9m in sim at least.
Sure. The important question is about WHICH crazy powercreep planes arrive with the June 2024 patch for War Thunder.
If they are some insane frogleap in capability like JAS39A/C was compared to the previous planes (and even the ‘peers’ like Su-27 lmao) then we’re really going right off a cliff in terms of ‘balance’
I wont lie playing the viggen at 11.7 when the D was there was actually fun before 9L’s got nerfed then it just was pathetic to use when fighting f16s and mig 29s.
