from playing a fair amount of both the BN and 2E i can say i far prefer playing the 2E
The BN does not have better optics, it does have better thermals

Bad gun depression, low shell pen, slow reload compared to other autoloaders or crewed vehicles with good skills, low crew count, unstabilised and thermal-less commanders sight, apparently fuel tanks are full of explosives, armour completely relies on ERA and also the ERA coverage is mediocre, low survival interior layout, funnily enough 3BM60 is just slow enough to be intercepted by the Iron Fist APS.

my honest and personal opinion: bad plan
I suppose it depends on playstyle. I know I hate CQB fighting, especially in the CR2. I find a good spot and provide long range support. Though consider just how much Gaijin nerfs the CR2. I’ve stopped playing ground. Until they even address some of the minor bugs, ground is pointless. If nothing comes to air this update. Then I’ll just uninstall the game till March

IMHO there are 4 tiers of nations in War Thunder.
1 Top tier: USA Germany Sweden
2 Soviet: Soviet
3 Minor nation: the ones not otherwise listed
4 Damned to hell: Britain

i feel you if all they do is add a new top tier tank for the uk and a modification to the tornado i might unlock both and play them for a bit

Optics are not Thermals, i did already specified that i was talking about Optics and not thermals
