In terms of balance not that much.
The could add a 2A6EX or 2A5DK instead of 2A7V and they would be pretty much the same exceqpt the thermals.
The V just combines all the features currently available for Leos in game at the price of mobility.

did they not announce a new Powerpack for the leos
I guess we will have to wait and see if the leak list is true for it’s so called “counterparts” (lol). I really shouldn’t have expected them to add a balanced batch of vehicles, but hope dies last.
Gaijin doesn’t really have the best balance track record when it comes to adding new ground ranks lmao.
I think it’s better to just not play US or Britain for the first few weeks after the update. Their rank VIIIs will likely be well below the 2A7V in performance and their new premiums will absolutely tank their winrate.
Let us hope then that everyone gets top premiums then.
Iirc Russia has already been denied a new rank VII premium this update.
They said that the OES and HC are the only ones for this update but more will come in the future
The 2A6EX has the 1630 hp Europowerpack of the PSO.
The 2A7V has the 1500hp engine of previous Leos but with massively improved gear ratios and thus acceleration in exchange for lower top speed of 63 kph
so just like always the new prems come in waves
doesnt get the increased armor, still has the standard armor like PSO and would be worse then Strv122, you mean the Leopard 2E or HEL
again, i showed you earlier the mobility isnt realy influenced you lose like 5 , but still get better acceleration
Apparently the CR2 OES pictures that we have on the devblog, once you open them separatedly, the link says “challenger_megatron” so i guess this is the “megatron” that was leaked a year or so ago by Olivia?
maybe they were unsure what they’ll take as prem
Imo acceleration>top speed in game anyway.
I have never really reached the top speed on most western MBTs in battle anyway. I would rather have the better acceleration for faster reactions.
in the first place, if you call that a trade off and weakness, i always want those weaknesses
the MBT’s top speed was reduced to 63kph forward and 28kph in reverse from the original 68kph and 31kph (on road - rough terrain top speed forward had not changed) but as a trade off, it has vastly improved acceleration characteristics, comparable to that of the much older but also much lighter Leopard 2A4. The tank’s suspension was also greatly changed. The modifications include new drive sprockets, the new 570 Z double pin track, new stronger torsion bars and the installation of hydraulic dampers on all seven wheel stations on each side, in contrast to only five per side previously.
It’s Gaijin.
Even with improved gear ratios, the inertia still scales with weight so it’s slower and less agile no matter how they implement the transmission.
Boo womp. Killing the west’s win rates even further.
Never called it a trade off, never will. In my opinion the better acceleration is straight up better compared to the higher top speed, indicating by the “>”.
I like faster reaction that the acceleration gives over a top speed that I have never reached while playing a Leopard 2 in RB.
that’s the usual game tho, first Bluefor gets their Win rates demolished, then redfor and then neutral
eh next patch, propably will be the USSR premium
and it will be better than the 2 we get now
Nice
