Hello, I’ve seen a lot of discussion about M26 being not that good tank and sitting at the same br as its better derivatives, at the same time I believe Gaijin doesn’t want to decrease its BR as they find it statistically effective.
In my opinion, they can decrease its BR with a change of its class to a “heavy tank”, so it will cost more SP and its statistical border will be higher.
At the same time this can also help Italian TT with a lack of the regular heavy tank, which for example matters for completing daily/special tasks.
In-game classification can differ from irl, for example M18 is classed as a “light tank”.
Would you like M26 and M26A1 to be changed in class to “Heavy tank”?
Tiger II P isnt way worse than the H though. The gun in the same (and already OP) and the hull armor is the same too, just worse turret armor, which you can angle. M26 has a front plate you can oneshot with a 75mm or short 88, and a gun that cant pen a Tiger II H without APCR, meanwhile every other variant at the same BR either has armor that can withstand a long 88 or a gun that can kill a KT
If you hit the small turret cheeks, and dont miss the middle section, because the angled parts will deflect your shell. Though I agree it isnt as hard as I make it sound, its still easier to pen the M26 using the KT than it is to pen the KT using the M26
This game is more than your biased nation vs Germany. USA have acces to 90 mm HEATFS in 5.7 for example, but the op is the long 88??? typical USA main crying.
Sorry i forgotten USA mains cant aim to weak spots.
What makes you think that I think thats ok? I don’t like seeing HEATFS against heavy tanks either because it defeats the purposes of heavy armor
typical germany main crying
Its aiming for like 4 pixels on a tank taller than you that you need to hit close to 0 degrees. a slight angle of the turret will negate the “weakspot” entirely.
I personally, do not agree that they should be changed to a heavy tank, the reason the M18 was changed to a light vehicle as it functions like one IIRC. The M26/M26A1 function like a medium tank, okay gun, okay armour, where as their heavy tank counterparts T26E-1 / T26E5 function like a heavy.
If they add a lower BR T26E3 with the non-good M82 shell then yeah I’d maybe see that as a heavy tank
But the issue is that the Pershing’s direct analogue is the Panther, which is classed as a medium. So unless the Panthers are also changed to heavy, the Pershing shouldn’t be
BS. the fact you sucks hard playing long 88 armored tanks is a clear indicator the long 88 is far from op. When a gun or vehicle is clearly op even a monkey with one hand can do well with it.
