No, because I just told you folks aim for side shots and the autoloader goes black.
Right? And? If you somehow manage to miss the ammo in the carousel from a side shot then you have managed to aim absolutely terribly somehow. You would have a harder time missing ammo than hitting ammo. Also the autoloader is still broken so they get one possible retaliation shot in response to your misplaced shot and then they’re dead, if they can even acquire you before you reload in 5s and put a second shot down.
An abrams being shot in the side, or any western MBT shot in the side (that doesn’t contain hull ammo) is going to have a much better chance of surviving than a russian/chinese one.
There needs to be decompression in general, but what I meant was that M829A3 wouldn’t help the M1A2’s deal with it’s actual threats: Leo 2A7HU, Leo 2A7V and Strv 122.
All it’d do is make the lives of T-72B3, T-80UE-1 and T-90A players more miserable, even though those tanks are already massively worse than M1A2’s even without it having M829A3.
Not gonna lie, I will be laughing my ass off once M829A3 gets added, because I know it will underperform so hard (do not ask how I know, but A3 is a heavy boi, to the tune of having ~40% more mass than DM53), it won’t in any way reflect how the real life counterpart performs ;p
Good to see you’re doing the usual approach of just handwaving anything you disagree with. And yes, if you somehow manage to strategically miss both the two turret crew and the hull ammo in a sideshot against a russian/chinese tank you have terrible aim and deserve to be punished.
Why don’t you post some of your gameplay of these russian tanks surviving sabot through their autoloaders with little damage from the side?
Good to see that you had handwaved it away as poor aim rather than note that spalling is a known thing and will set off ammunition, particularly with DU rounds. Who has them? US. Who doesn’t? USSR.
And didn’t you just say you wouldn’t go to Reddit to see uploaded videos that show actual shots? So why then are we wasting our time further with you?
If I was simply handwaving, we wouldn’t have dozens of sources saying otherwise.
Edit: What’s really funny is you’re the one who claimed to have insider knowledge of the Abrams and why we should trust you with the accuracy of the model.

If it is a known thing you will have no issue providing some tangible evidence for me to fact check this claim. Also yes, it is poor aim. If you manage to miss both the crew and carousel full of ammo from the side then you have terrible aim. This is such a weird thing to try and argue against.
And didn’t you just say you wouldn’t go to Reddit to see uploaded videos that show actual shots? So why then are we wasting our time further with you?
You know that you can post clips here from upload sites and from youtube? Do you need the redditors to try and fight and make your arguments for you or something? Are you not capable of doing so on your own?
Spalling yea, I doonn’t think they will give it anti-ERA though, seeing as DM53 has been in the game for years now and it still hasn’t got its tip.
But what i’m mostly talking about is the KE’s raw performance (penetration). I’m guessing the “Gaijin version” will, at best, be just somewhat better than the current iteration of WT’s DM53, while according to what I’ve been shown, it should be a 700mm+ KE class projectile easily.
OK, fair, but also no, I’m with you. DM53 should have anti-ERA tip.
The fact that Gaijin won’t is of course, because ‘balance’. There’s days I honestly think the only balance they give a damn about is USSR and whether it’s close to 52 percent. If the US dips or any other, it’s no big deal.
I already told you I’m not interested in the wholesome redditors. If you have an argument you can formulate it and evidence it yourself and post it. I’ll wait, you can gather your clips of your aimed shots that do nothing through the side of autoloaders where the ammo should have blown up even when you never hit it.
I’ll also wait for your evidence on your claim that the ammo explodes without being struck because of DU rounds.
And I’m honest enough to tell you that you’re a liar, a private account who claims subject matter expertise even when other SMEs have proven your points wrong, and that you derail conversations based on ‘skill issue’ while making claims of being a high skill player, when this game should be geared towards the average skill user, and not merely the USSR users.
So, I’m patient enough to rebuff you and say that you’re not going to show us clips of your own gameplay in an M1A2 SEPSv2 with your handle and tags.
You’re really letting this private profile thing live rent free in your head aren’t you? Must admit it is funny watching people headcanon over this, had about 6 different theories already.
Also you still have not provided any tangible evidence, why are you still responding to me? Respond to me when you can actually substantiate your claims with credible evidence and I will take your arguments at face value. I’m not interested in your speculation and headcanon.
Well according to gaijin the majority of the playerbase prefer and want close quarters maps based on their developer interview within the last year or so.
Hand it off to the singular SEPv2 so it’s not a downgrade over the SEPv1. It still doesn’t solve the premium tank spam or one and done problem. It instead gives the SEPv2 something actually noteworthy improvement over the SEPv1. Which is my entire complaint. That the SEPv2, which is supposed to at the moment be the pinnacle of the US Ground Tree, is a straight up downgrade over the SEPv1. Personally I think from a gameplay perspective you should avoid implementing tanks that are outright downgrades from the preceding version, but that’s just my opinion.
If M829A3 doesn’t actually help the Abrams at all, then it seems awfully convenient that it’s grounds for it not to be added.
Even assuming we get your bug reports implemented of the volumetric turret ring & improved side armor, it’d still at large be a downgrade 'cause those same bug reports should be applied to the SEPv1.
MFW the most common claim on the internet has M829A3’s sabot being a whopping 10kg over the preceding M829A2’s 7.6kg
