What’s funny is Gaijin said explicitly that M829A3 wouldn’t help the Abrams anyways in overcoming modern ERA arrays (presumably they’re referring to Relikt). Soo aside from a stock T-72B3 which K5-equipped tanks is any M1A2 SEP equipped with M829A3 going to see without involving a down-tier?

Even while the whole front of the Abrams’ hull is a viable target to them.

And this would be a negative how? If they’re already facing off against tanks that have ERA that can “supposedly” stop A3, why argue against it?

Spaded T-72B3 still has Kontakt-5 (not sure if you implied otherwise, if you didn’t just disregard this comment).
The T-80UE-1, T-80U and T-80UM are also fairly common opponents, all equipped with Kontakt-5.
Obligatory reminder that today the instant delete button doesn’t activate 100 percent of the time, and usually involves an autoloader being damaged.
Ammo/charge detonation chances were changed to be 100% of the time upon turning black.

In game, more often than not, ammo is not struck, autoloader is, and the autoloader goes black, sucking up the majority of the damage and not registering as an ammo det. OK thanks. Still proving the 829A3 can be implemented.

About your claims and experience for disagree for any fix on abrams: you only have played the M1 10.3 which, just imagine, DONT have the same turret ring than other abrams (https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/1e5wr2f/why_did_the_first_m1_have_better_turret_ring_than/).
As your claim for already great tank is true ONLY for the 10.3 version, bc your status agree with us that you SUCK at M1A1/A2

Uh huh, so why should the ammo detonate if it isn’t destroyed exactly? Should the ammo just detonate when the autoloader is hit even if it doesn’t not hit the ammo? Maybe aim at where you know ammo will be in that case.

You can still penetrate the turret ring of the M1 with a panzer 4 shell. Isn’t this the metric that I tend to see used for why it is so bad?
Not like I’m asking for every M1A2 to be equipped with M829A3.
Just for the SEPv2 to not be a straight downgrade over the SEPv1. Just like how I’d love for the TES not to be a straight downgrade over the preceding Challenger 2s.
Hell I personally think buffing every 120mm Abrams reload time to 5s was a mistake, as a US Main, because it infringed on the aforementioned minors everyone cites that also have 5s reloads. Such as the Leclerc & the Challengers. Nevermind the current state of the Arietes or the Merkava 4 situation.
I sure as hell wasn’t asking for a reload buff, I was pushing for an armor buff.

Depends where they shot in the side. Before that even, you got shot in the side in the centre of your vehicle. Why should you not be punished? If you shot a T80UE1 in the side they also have only two turret crew and a massive ammo stowage so will die the overwhelming majority of the time.
You shoot any tank in the side that doesn’t have spall liners and it is going to have a bad time, redundant point.

In regards to K5 tanks having to be decompressed because of the idea of M1A2s equipped with M829A3
