Most of them have less that 1000m effective range.
Typo I meant 1, and to answer the question properly, up to 8.7
And most you can just strafe them with 20mm he from over that distance
The Super Hellcat isn’t all that more mobile than the regular M36.
I never played it but I also never had problems with M36 and its mobility.
The bigger difference is probably the much faster reverse gear on the Hellcat compared to the M36 with its slow Sherman reverse speed.
Uhm what???
Yeah shocking. A mobile, turreted TD with no effective armor.
How else would you play the M36?
The mobility is not comparable. The hellcat is a speed demon and the m36 is just okay mobile.
Are you sure? Is this back in the day before a nerf or something?
I bought the t114
It never ever 1 pops anything! - its that bad its like its in the code that you have to hit the same spot twice to kill…
Either bad luck or skill issue. I keep having 1 shots while playing the ELC BIS and similar HEAT only vehicles. Might just be french HEAT is built different but I doubt it.
It has 10% better power to weight.
It has better top speed and reverse but overall the mobility isn’t that much better.
You play the M36 in the same way as the Super Hellcat.
Against German 5.7-6.7 tanks it hardly makes a difference other that the Super Hellcats much better reverse speed gives it more opportunities.
Its fired at such a slow speed is all iv got.
Side shots, frontal, long range snipes to top of tanks all take 2 shots to.the same place.
Iv only used a few HEAT slingers, the m51 isreal starter tank slapped. The t114… id record to.prove it always takes 2 shots - but im not playing it again.
Then you just need to learn to aim.
Same issue.
Well maybethe shell just sucks then.
Responded in proper thread as to not clutter the current one with offtopic.
Nah, Having played plenty of both, and just giving the (faster) M36 a quick test range drive, The M36 definitely fairly mobile, but its nowhere near the super hellcat, its not even close, even ignoring the reverse speed differences.
I dont think it should be THAT low however 5.7 would be nice.
6.0 is just too much for what it is. Even so its still muh playable at 6.0 as light tanks never die.
You want it to be same BR as M4A2 (76)W and lower BR than M4A3 (76)W ?
How can the B end up at same BR as the M36 when it has the bonus of HEAT?
No vehicle with HE-VT should be below 6.0. Or was that a joke?
It’s a sidegrade to the M4A2 at best, and the M4A3 is much better
Its a much worse vehicle, just remove HEAT
Remove HE-VT it shouldnt even exist until 9.3 anyway
What?
Might not have vertical stabilizer but it has better pen, and much better post-pen-damage than either of the 76 M4s. And it’s turret armor is significantly better as well.
At worst it’s a side-grade to the M4A3 and certainly deserves a higher BR than the M4A2.
I mean, you really want it fighting 4.3 enemies with that 90mm?
What do you mean remove the HEAT?
That’s the major difference. What’s the point of having the B if there’s no HEAT?
Less hp/ton vs some strafing protection and much better pen vs any angled armor. The one step increase in BR is justified.
This is moot. The vehicle has HE-VT, and I don’t see Gaijin removing that any time soon. So there’s no chance it drops to 5.0.
You underestimate how useful a short stop stabiliser is.
An extra ~35mm penetration and an exta 70 grams of explosive mass does not outweigh the benefits of the short stop stabiliser on the M4A2, not to mention the turret is much heavier making it even more unstable than an unstabilised M4A2 would be
Put the M36 up to 7.3!!! Do you really want a 90mm against tigers? I didnt think so!
The heat is useless, only against Tigers and Jagdtigers does it help, not really relevant for the playstyle
Same rotation.
No idea what your hyperbole is trying to accomplish here.
HEAT lets you pen heavy and angled armor much better than APHE of the same caliber. Sure it’s post-pen damage is inconsistent, but … you have to pen to do anything. And even if it can’t one-shot it can cripple the target for a follow-up kill shot.
There’s a reason Gaijin gives tanks with HEAT a higher BR than comparables without it.
