To be honest with you, getting your transmission destroyed by autocannons seems a lot less of a problem than what the Type 10, Leclerc, and Abrams have to deal with.

Either way, I think Merkava is given too much shit for what it is, its a good vehicle, often used in the competitive scene because its just plain good.

I’m not denying that it’s good, and I think a lot of people (especially @Pangolin_Fan ) severely underrate them.
That being said, I’d say the Type 10 and Merkava Mk.4 have enough pros and cons compared to one another to make them both equally as good in my eyes.
Merkava is also really good with side-scraping since it has no engine in the rear, though it only has 11 rounds in its first-stage and the rest sits in the rear of the tank.
Type 10 has a really good reload for equally as capable dart but can get autocannon’d relatively easily.
Yeah they fixed APS such that they now active from much further away too.
9.3-10.0 Merkavas can still somewhat reliably use their engines / transmission to soak up some shots.
Top Tier Merkavas (Mk.3 and Mk.4)… not so much from my experience.
Thats true. The loader side does not house ammo (unless you bring like 30+) so you can show your loader side in sidescraping and see basically their entire tank while they cant do much of anything to you.

After 3 games i can confidently share my experience on Merkava 4M in 2025.
Turret feels trolly until enemy knows where to shoot and hull is still paper, mobility is nice but TKX still feels better.
Now it feels better than i remember and working APS is surely nice, saved me couple missiles on first match but still doesnt feel enough.
After 3 matches i jumped into my TKX/Type-10 and result was this.
On my best match i managed to score 9 kills with Merkava 4M+F15I while i did much better in TKX/Type10+JAS39C combo in single match. Funny thing is i was much more confident in my TKX compare to MK4 while not having same amount of smoke or gun handling or even APS.
It seems Merkava 4M is better than i remember but still not on level that Type-10/TKX in my eyes.
Was CAS problematic in those games?
I really want to play my Mk.4s again but I straight up dread having to play the Spyder again.
Enemy team was not great and only managed to spawn in couple planes and one single Mi28NM at the same time they spammed Pantsir’s in order to stop my F-15I while I was demolishing their remaining forces and their air units.
CAS still threat to players if its used by experienced players, some people say new SAM systems made it harder but actually it forced us to adopt much harder environment thus made us better CAS players in my book.
For example when I spawned in my JAS39C while I was playing my TKX I noticed IRIS-T and decided to spam my mavericks on it, guess what happened?
Due to my spam IRIS-T’s radar confused and all of its missile missed me while my mavericks destroyed him and his units Xd.

Play it out more and you’ll see what I mean. Its a really nice tank to use.
3 game was more than enough for me, due to knowing how butchered Merkava’s are compare to irl performance plus bein sized of building it doesnt feel charming to me anymore.
I guess I got used to small and nimble tanks which is why I prefer TKX/Leclerc and T-Series/VT-4’s on these days, tho Chally’s,M1A2’s and Strv122’s still hold special places in my heart so I try not to ignore them too much.
Maybe when Raam Sagol discount comes and I decide to purschase it I might comeback to Israel tech tree once again.
Until then I’m gonna stick with my other tanks.

Actually yes,the whole reason why I grinded Merkava’s was to be able to walk around like Yeager’s Xd.

- M735 is missing around 35mm of penetration.
- M774 is overperforming by around 25mm of penetration.
- M833 is generally performing correctly.
I have no idea what makes you think M774 and M833 are underperforming.
Which version you’re talking about? Cause as far as I know there is more than one M735 version out there and don’t know which version we have in game.
How good do you think the Merkava?
I think it’s among the top 3-4 worst, along with the Chally and Ariete.

They’re 3/4th best behind the 12.7 Abrams and the Strv 122 / Leopard 2A7.
