Can someone explain why the base M1 is still sitting at 10.7? It is barely 10.3 worthy in the current state of the game, and the disadvantages are starting to pile up:
Outmatched Firepower: The U.S. is the only nation whose primary MBT at this bracket lacks a 120mm gun. The 105mm is massively outclassed by the firepower every other nation brings to the table.
The Reload Myth: People point to the 5-second reload as a balancing factor, but 80% of players will never actually see that speed because it requires a perfectly Aced crew.
Poor Protection: The armor simply isn’t reliable at 10.7. You can’t depend on it to stop incoming rounds, and the mobility/reload speed doesn’t make up for being at such a massive firepower disadvantage.
Dated Tech: The thermals are… well, they’re present, but that’s about all you can say for them.
My Suggestion:
Move the M1 to 10.3 where it belongs, and add the M1E1 at 10.7 to fill the gap.
The M1E1: It’s a base M1 hull with the 120mm gun.
Stats: Give it XM829 (roughly 420mm of pen) and a 6-second reload.
This would actually create a logical step toward the later 120mm-armed Abrams models instead of forcing the 105mm M1 into matches where it doesn’t have the tools to compete

No. the 105mm is perfectly capable at that BR, its easily the in the top 5 mbts at 10.7, maybe even top 3 depending on how you count
it will stay at 10.7
The 105 is perfectly capable? Its a 9.0 gun shoved at 10.7 it has less spall and less pen then almost if not every single other 10.7 main mbt
Its also faster, has thermals and a better reload then nearly everything at its br, the only tank thats anywhere close to the that is the challenger but the abrams is faster still.

M60A3 TTS has functionally the same gun and ammo at 9.0
and there are MBTs with better rounds from similar guns at 9.3
with your logic it has a 8.0, infact with your logic nearly every tank with a 105mm has the same gun as they all come from the British L7 105mm
also yes a 9.0 tank has the same round… it also has half the top speed, a substantially worse reverse speed, and much worse armour
with your logic the the 5.3 comet should be 4.7, the T90M should be 11.7 and the 6.3 Jumbo should be 2.7

the M68 and M68a1 are different guns, they have different ballistics, frankly i dont know if gaijin has implemented the differences, the IPM1 has the exact same gun as the M1 but it could be argued they arent the same gun with this logic
is the L55a1 the same as the L44 btw? the L44 on the PSO and PL fires DM53 just like the L55a1

and from everything I have found IRL they were very simmilar other than pressure ratings, with only a1 being rated to fire M900
again, M68 and M68a1 have identical ballistics
its true tho, the US tech tree is literally the best one in the game, good aircraft, good tanks, every BR you have a good lineup.

You don’t have a good lineup at every BR. You have a good enough lineup at every BR.
good point it goes from good enough to amazing lineups, germany goes from okay to amazing and the soviets go from terrible to good, maybe amazing but it relies heavily on CAS unlike the US where its literally just an amazing bonus
