This is not a big of a deal, it’s a rank II premium vehicle, where’s the line-up strengthening advantage when the tech tree Yak-1B is marginally superior? In my opinion the reason of this buzz with a region-exclusive vehicle is the pilot model, and it’s the only reason to have a bad Yak-1. To note Lydia Litvyak’s Yak-1 as premium vehicle is not the same as the tech tree Yak-1B: it has no WEP, it’s heavier and has worse armament than the Yak-1B, in summary people are paying a few bucks for a mediocre vehicle whereas the tech tree improved variant is superior. There’s a comparison in the Wiki.
I think that’s the issue here. It’s a different vehicle that most people just couldn’t get.
I could’ve started the game sooner to get old events, could’ve bought a console to get their exclusives, but the requirement of being Russian is just not in relation to either of these.
Yes because it’s a early variant, as I said Yak-1B is a improvement, you can get the same Lydia Litvyak’s Yak-1 in the form of the battle rating 2.3 tech tree Yak-1 Early:

If you mean because it’s Lydia Litvyak’s Yak-1 with a exclusive pilot model, fair but in my opinion there are a lot of other things people could put effort in complaining rather than asking to have something else to put money in.
They opened with this decision the can of worms already. What if the next exclusive vehicle is a high tier one, with OP tendency? Will you than also shut up???
The cosmetic stuff on the DMM accounts are one thing, but exlusive vehicles are the total wrong way…
I don’t care about the statistics of the vehicle I care that it’s Lydia’s. I also don’t like the precedent this sets for regional exclusive vehicles. I could possibly buy an xbox and buy the XM1 but I can’t move to Belarus that is not realistic.
It’s a lineup strengthener because:
- Because premium it comes with all mods unlocked, no grinding;
- It gives you an additional plane in the 2.7 AAB lineup (3 tech tree for everyone else vs 3 tech tree and 1 premium), giving you longer staying power in that mode;
- It is currently under-BR’d at 2.7/2.3, when any reasonable BR would be 3.0/2.7, halfway to the -1B. The performance advantage (don’t trust statcard values when Statshark exists) is mostly on top speed, but the extra ordnance you can carry above the default Yak-1 can make a lethality difference.
Note there is no reason at this time to believe that Gaijin/PixelStorm won’t just do this again at a BR range or mode that people care about more, if no one objects now.
It is not a geographical restriction Gaijin has any control over. Where XBox and PSN sell their services has nothing to do with Gaijin. This one, on the other hand, they absolutely had full control and could do this a different way that was more equitable to players worldwide if they wanted.
Why? Regional restrictions are the only reason I can’t get these vehicles. And that’s Gaijin’s decision. They’re the ones in charge, and everything that happens in their game is entirely up to them, they have absolutely full control over everything.
It is hardly unusual, when you are trying to go cross-console and open up a new market, to offer one or more exclusives just to that market. Leave aside there has not been any new console exclusives since 2018 when XBox support began, in both cases where console support was added, the company made an agreement with the console company to have a couple vehicles each as exclusives when first getting listed on that console store and have since stuck to those agreements.
PixelStorm is not PSN or XBox Live. Its entire business is to process CIS-based player payments for Gaijin products, it doesn’t have any other function. So Gaijin has total control over that online store, and profits directly from its success, in a way that they do not with console stores. A better comparison: when it was a Japanese online store they had to strike a deal with for market access (DMM), they didn’t offer any vehicles because at the time they saw that as a potentially bad decision that would annoy players in other countries. But apparently that belief changes when we are talking about PixelStorm. Players in the countries PixelStorm does not serve are entitled to ask why that is and what the limits are.
Gaijin is not in charge of what countries Sony and Microsoft operate in.
Do you think Sony and Microsoft prevented them from making the vehicles available on PC, or was that Gaijin’s decision?
It’s exactly the same case. The company created a regional publisher and provided them with exclusive regional content, like DMM.
DMM’s avatars are way better than this useless aircraft.
If it makes you feel any better, Pixel players are really suffering, and a lot of them want to go back to the global but can’t xdd.
Plus, Gaijin had “regional specificity” for Pixel, but only for Pixel players from russia, the rest of the Pixel CIS countries were left out xdd
They even restrict players from the same publisher.
I’d rather ask Gaijin never to do on the global client what they do on Pixel. You don’t want that xdd
Yes I do in fact think Sony and Microsoft prevented them from making the vehicles available on PC, that is how exclusivity contracts work. You are bringing up the example of DMM over and over which is simply not a valid argument, we are talking about vehicles not decals, apples and oranges. They specifically avoided making DMM exclusive vehicles because it would piss people off.
