Getting to level 100 isn’t that hard,
I’m now at level 92 ish, I’m grinding a different nation now
China, the m8 greyhound is a murderous beast

I believe it’s time for an official statement about the game level, as it doesn’t really mean much in WT.
I reached level 100 even before ground forces were any part of WT. What if someone today gets to level 100 while playing only naval? Why should he/she be punished in any way just because he/she wants to switch to ground forces, too? There are lots of players who like only WWII stuff. Why should they be punished for wanting to play what they like?
Pay to win?
I don’t see much of the game being Pay to Win,…
I see that most of the game is Pay to Grind / Pay to Cosmetics.
But most of the game requires the player to know what he is doing, and most players do not.
Its very strange, but I see this Level 100 Cowards in nearly each game from BR 1.0 to 5.7 in all random matches and they have many excuses. I don´t know and dont care, if they want to improve their statistics or their ego. The Level 100 guys say “We will go on competing against noobs, because we can. You have to learn and be better” while the noobs like me are saying “why not bringing the Level 100 guys together, when they want to play BR 1.0 or whatever and let noobs fight noobs?”. Then they Level 100 guys can have “their fun” on low tier and noobs have more fun without them. Just combine BR and Level of Player. Can´t be that difficult, can it?
Level 20 people can significantly outperform level 100s for multiple reasons.
On point 4-
I fly 15 minutes in asb with a rank 3 plane and get at maximum 2500 rp which translates to 2500 xp towards lvling.
I fly 15 minutes asb with a rank 7 plane and get 5000 rp.
I could play 100 hours using f4u4 of bf109f4 and have half the progress as someone who played 100 hours in f8e.
This is before premium bonuses or boosters.
I think it is pretty obvious that account level barely if at all has any correlation to skill.
And finally.
When this game released top tier was things like me262. Telling experienced people that they are not allowed to fly 5.7 planes, which while not exactly the top tier of the day, were still considered high skill brackets is… fascinating.
Dont treat ww2/prop tiers as “beginner” tiers.
The only thing one could argue is a beginner tier is tier 1 eith the funny interwar vehicles and biplanes for AB and RB. For SB, i’d say tier 1 planes are anything but beginner friendly due to handling, visibility and lack of conveniences - in sb ironically, if not for repair costs and terrible compression, rank 5 jets would be the most noob friendly.
Sorry that after playing for 12 years I don’t like top tier and prefer lower B.Rs
Ask for SBMM as I have
High level doesn’t necessarily mean they are good, a lot of players who played since the release still perform worse than someone who got the game three months ago, you will even find plenty of them at the forum who usually give ridiculous bad takes that you would start wondering how someone been playing for so long but doesn’t understand anything. I also hit a wall long time ago and hadn’t seen no improvement whatsoever, and I believed it is due to the fact that I’ve found my comfort zone and refusing to try anything else that could improve my winning rate. So if you see me at 5.7 I wouldn’t be the one that could influence the match due to my passive playstyle, my lv100 is just a decorative purposes.
A wise man on this forum once said:
If 1000s of lvl 10 players can play top tier and leave after one death making 80% of matches pointless to play I sure af can play low tier and enjoy the gameplay there.
The only problem is
The other team has them too and if they start to go on a streak the lvl 100 players in your team have to as well otherwise the team will get stomped in a matter of minutes cuz they ain’t stopping the 3 man esport squad of the enemies. So casual play for the veterans in your team is a no go a lot of times.
Yes, Level 100 doesn´t make you a pro or better then others. But lets face it : When you are Level 100 and got (e.g.) planes up to 13.3, then the guy is not playing against 100% of enemies on his level on BR 3.0. He is playing against Noobs and low level performer.
And yes, a Level 100 Pilot doesn´t have to be a good tank driver. But again : Combining BR and Level is the best solution. I´m asking myself, why Gajin is playing against money. I think, there are new players everyday in War Thunder and after that what I read, many of them doesn´t want the actual system ands leave soon. Gajin needs new players to grow and these new players have a higher chance to pay for new stuff, then old veterans who play for 10 years.
As long as there is no better other way is the best matchmaking with BR AND Level. Veterans vs. Veterans and Noobs vs. Noobs. I don´t know any Noob, who wants to play against Level 100, but Level 100 Players have no problem with noobs. :-) hm…
Many guys who play high tier doesn´t like it “up there” and return to lower BR. But will they have the same “fun”, when they face level 100 opponents only wherever they go? I doubt that.
Well it’s definitely a change of pace to play lower br’s, enjoying some casual gameplay and slower pace and the overall chaos and madness that is low tier, even at 1.0. Also knowing that you dont have to perform every match and just enjoy the chaos.
Just doesnt work if every time the enemies also have like 3 lvl 100s murdering your whole team.
And for the snail queue time apparently is everything so there you go. elo based mm isn’t a thing, certain brs get constantly up or downtiered into premium one death leaver hell, top tier naval rb is 4 vs 4 more often than not with one team having 3 7.0 bbs while the other has none. Air rb with the same br discrepancies. Most top tier matches are over in less than 10 minutes and decided in 5 with one team completely sweeping the other.
But you can play 15 of those shit matches in an hour, isn’t that great?
It is what it is and the snail is sticking to it as much as they stick to the same 3 cap gamemode on 1x1 km maps since 12 years.
I think theres not really a point in arguing about it. It won’t change
Also:
You must have not seen the countless threads of people complaining about one death leaving in high tiers? Do you think it is fun playing top tier US atm when 70% of you team is lvl 10, has a one vehicle lineup that doesnt get crewlocked after leaving, has no idea what he/she is doing in a m1 clickbait and is basically only in your team to feed as much sp to the enemies as quick as possible so that even when you are one of two people in the team doing well they have enough sp to spawn 5 cas planes? Whos gonna shoot them down? the lvl 10 clickbait horde in their abrams?
Be teamed with US in top tier=consider leaving at match start.
If those guys can wreak havoc in high tier matches, expect me in low tier once in a while. Edit: Where people do bring lineups. Where people dont leave after getting casd once. Where not every tank has the same weakspots. No stabilizers, no apfsds, no helis, no ff agms with 20 km range, no laserrangefinder.
It’s just much different and very fun gameplay and arguably more skill dependent. your shots wont land on target 0.5 sec after firing with pin point accuracy by pressing one button. I think you’ll have to deal with the fact that theres lots of people enjoying that gameplay even if they spent 1000s of hours in the game and have top tier in multiple nations.
I was level 25 not so long ago. I think i am level 55 now? Idk. It took half a year as i mostly fly props. Funnily the moment i decided to get the f8u/f8e for sl grinding, i got far more level ups than i did equivalrnt time flying my props and sriving my ww2 tanks.
I had zero issues facing level 100s.
To this day i have zero issues facing level 100s.
I sometimes check my opponent’s profile in asb after a battle.
Do you know something i noticed?
Random lvl 30 and 25 folk have given me very fun and close dogfights where victory was grasped through exploiting one small mistake.
I check their profile and i see stuff like 200h asb in almost entirely bf109F4, K4 and other variants.
Meanwhile i flew against plenty of level 100s that made me check to see if i was accidentally sealclubbing and nah. That level 100 just barely ever flew in the mode before.
Also the gameplay of props vs jets is very different. Someone who is awesome at flying missile jets and bvr combat might suck at gunfights. Conversely, if you try and do the same tricks in the f8e that you do with your bf109f4 that clutched you some wins you get missiled. Repeatedly.
Ww2 and jet tiers are entirely different games almost.
I play low BRS because I just feel like it every now and then. Or because I’m starting a tree again or continuing at a low rank.
Of course, I also play my German tree with ace crews every now and then and that gives me an advantage.
But I also notice that I’m still no better than the people who are practicing at that rank. Since I mostly play at 12.7 or at 8.7 for the Russians, the behavior and tactics I’ve practiced simply don’t fit with the tanks in the lower ranks.
Apparently, many people feel this way.
So the rank 100 players aren’t a big deal.
Of course, there are also seal clubbers with special event-, or premium tanks, or even lovers of the ranks with a huge amount of experience at that rank.
They then naturally wipe the floor with their opponents.
I had someone calling me out a couple weeks ago for being lvl 100 at 2.0. I just don’t understand why some people think it’s so bad. You’re gonna see people better than you at every BR. Also sometimes it’s fun to be better than everyone else after I destroyed in the abram’s
Why is it strange?
Lets just insult fellow players anonymously… very brave in contrast.
What inspired you to pick those two options of all the possibilities? You are not projecting, are you?
Cmon, you are a squad member at level 36. You played nearly 2000 missions. You consider yourself a noob?
And you play much naval. You must realize that people playing boats end up where the entry destroyers are. There is no rocket science to it.
yes, there are better people then me in every BR, but there is a high correlation between a Level 100 Player and superior Vehicles, crews and knowledge.
And yes, I trust you guys, when you say, that high tier play isn´t that good and creates not the fun you expect. But just imagine, you play BR 10-13 matches against noobs only? Wouldn´t that increase the fun? ;-)
Again, there is an issue and a potential solution : Combine BR and Level of the player. I didn´t read a better solution then this.
Yes, Mr. Level 100 to me its still an act of coward behavior with a superior crew, verhicles and knowledge and when the matchmaking is changed in the future and level 100 players just play against other ones, we will see, how much fun it is :-D
The topic with statistics and ego I read on reddit. I´m not the owner of this idea. There are cheater in many games (not only) in war thunder. What do you think, why they cheat everywhere? :-) Its usually not for money…
i played less then 800 matches in all countries and in 6 modes and yes, I´m a Noob Mr. 5000 Matches. That I have to explain this :-DDDDDDD
And yes, I play much naval, because its fun to me and thats whats its all about to me. Not grinding for a specific vehicle.
Well MisterBroker, it is still insulting. I may have some adjectives for you too, but they don’t belong in a discussion. So if you want to be taken seriously, you should debate seriously and keep your insults to yourself.
And where do you think these cheaters reside in warthunder, level-wise? The last ban list will give you a good clue.
You forget about your ~1100 battles in arcade.
No problem with that, but in naval, your insults are totally without substance. People who are playing top tier boat lineups will be matched with people playing entry level destroyers. Matches are not “boat only”.
again, you don´t offer a solution :-) Just bring Level 100 guys together. Problem for you?
No, funnily, that will actually create a problem for you in naval.
Are you on premium time?
