Or their old account was… ah… “cancelled”.
You mean in a like “Their friend used their account and may have had a plug-in” kind of way?
They already do that. As a part time seal clubber myself (during events mainly), EVERY single time without exception, unless it’s like 4AM and the matchmaker had been running for minutes, there will be a guy on the other team who also gets like 12 kills and cancels me out more or less, unless one of us hunts the other one down.
One other exception is squads.
I can’t prove it, but it feels very obvious when it happens for like 100 matches in a row. And I can’t think of a reason why Gaijin WOULDN’T do that, either. They have zero incentive not to.
Still doesn’t solve seal clubbing, though, so not really an answer to the thread.
Actual solutions I can think of:
-
Separate out < Level 20 (or whatever ends up allowing a similar number of players on both sides of the cutoff) and also < BR 3.0 simultaneously, into their own pool. Splitting in 2 wouldn’t hurt queue times enough to not be worth it.
-
Or same as above, but make the cutoff higher, and supplement the smaller (higher level) pool by adding more bots to matches if queue times are too long. They can still dunk on them in between duelling each other and get 1337 sooper high KDs, but without turning away new players.
If everybody at 1BR is a level 100 seal clubber then who is there to seal club?
If even 50% at BR are vets, then what is the issue?
Nobody, that’s the whole point, it solves seal clubbing.
“But now you can’t seal club!!” is not a valid objection to a solution to seal clubbing, lol
lol it is a bizarre business.
I think entry to War Thunder is steep learning curve but it’s a rite of passage most of us share, like an initiation.
Might as well tell it like it is at an early level. It won’t get any easier later on that’s for sure.
It’s not about making it easier, it’s about getting people hooked already, so they don’t uninstall when they lose a bunch more later on. Early player retention.
I agree and I play on X Box, I got hammered initially and I imagine my stats still show the scars. I could not tell you why I even stuck around but I got hooked and I knew I that I would crack it at some point.
Getting the X box X really turned things around. I had no idea on X Box one what a burden I was carrying. I was no expert at level 100 that is for sure.
I am a strong believer in learning and lessons, and I think a level 20 player in a squad could kick a level 100 lay about into space pretty easily. One person can learn more in a month than another can learn in five or ten years if they do it the right way. I did not.
It was two years before I watched a replay. Ouch!!
the player’s account level is nothing more than the sum of XP earned in games.
It does not matter because a bot that automatically joins the game and dies after several thousand battles will reach account lvl 100 without killing a single player.
All you need is a premium account and death reward mechanics that guarantee a bit of XP, which if played many times will ultimately bring enough XP to reach lvl 100 in your account.
I got destroyed in ground RB until I unlocked the shermans. I’m a much better player now. He’ll learn.
True that I’ve been a 100 for years, I live at BR 5. No reason to play any higher, the game gets far less fun past BR 6.
There is probably more lvl 7 one death premium leavers at high/top tier than low level players in low tier.
I myself enjoy rank 2-5 the most.
The game doesn’t hold your hand with stabilisers, laser rangefinders, thermals and one click munitions. No guided bombs and rockets. It’s all about skill and the compression problem doesn’t exist here.
The higher you go, the less skill you need.
Top tier is all about who has the the most broken volumetric model and the most OP tech.
So no, thank you, I will keep enjoying mid tiers.
PS: I enjoyed top tier last time back in the day when Russia wasn’t completely broken with the helicopter spam and other BS. Back when Leopard 2A4 was top tier, because that was before drones, helicopters, guided bombs and thermals were in the game.
Higher you go the more stupid silly the air spam gets for a ground player.
Some of us 100’s are very different from who we once were, this game has been out for a hard min. Please don’t judge us because we have changed over the years and or are damaged mentally. Not everyone has the skill level to be top guns premium tanks , boosters ect or not.
Non USSR rank VI-VII experience:
Don’t see enemy for 10 minutes.
Looks at score - 3/4 of team already left.
Looks at the skies - 5 Su-25’s spamming rockets.
Looks at the horizon - 3 Ka-50’s hovering above their helipad sniping tanks from 8km away.
Gets bored.
Moves up from position.
Immediately sniped.
Game ends with 1 assist.
Very fun, 10/10 - IGN.
Rank III-V experience:
See engagement constantly.
No helicancer.
Nobody snipes from 3km hidden behind 2 forests and hills with thermals.
People respawn even up to 7 times per game. No one death leavers.
Everyone has 5+ kills.
Fight until time runs out.
Just yesterday, I played German rank VI only to get a few assists before 90% of my team left within first 3 minutes. What am I gonna do with 2 players left on my team against 10 enemies?
In contranst, I got 2 nukes with the Jpz 4-5/Jagdtpanther combo yesterday.
lvl 10 players in the toptier… whats the better???
Most historically interesting aircraft can only be shot down at low BR…
(besides, video games are supposed to be fun.)
I know it’s hard to win against skilled players.
but we need to know that the player base of this game isn’t that big enough to separate those players,
I advise you to watch other skilled players playing War Thunder by using YouTube or Twitch and try to mimic them. and you’ll eventually know how this game works and you could adapt it.
Something else for the lower BR players to consider, just because a player has enough time in the game to become a level 100 does not mean they are any better at the game than a level 40 or 50.
Something else we’re not allowed to talk about, some of those LVL 100’s got there by means other than time and natural talent, if they seem a little too good there a reason behind it.
