Right. Shell used to map this was DM53/L44.
Strv 122 is by far the most armoured, followed by the T-90M, then BVM and finally the 2A7V… even though the last, should be the first.
I omitted all armour holes on the 2A7V btw, the results would’ve been even worse otherwise.

what i find weird is how at least to me it feels like the upper plate on the 2A7V has less armor than my 2A6 but i have not checked it

Because it has LESS. The add-on armour doesn’t shatter APFSDS, so it relies purely on raw KE armour value (~550mm to ~600mm depending on angle).
2A6s upper plate outright shatters/ricochet APFSDS, so it doesn’t care about what’s being fired at it. Right now, you trade the upper plate for the beak, this isn’t an upgrade, it’s a trade of weakpoints.

i did some very rough math if the 2A7V did not get all those armor upgrades its about 2.1 tons too heavy
Yea, and a guy who’s got contacts with mods told me that, I actually had to prove it to be better than Strv 122s MEXAS add-on (even though 2A7V relies on a 20+ year newer package, which logically should be performing at least at the same level) for the report to be accepted, lmao.

We “can’t” in the traditional sense. Gaijin is just full of double-standards. Though in my report I provided evidence of it being a “Duel Plate” meant for tank-on-tank combat, afterwards it was forwarded.
