Not worse but not Overpowered as OP says they’re.
I would rate them 3rd best personally along side the Abrams. Leo2 series is hands down the best (I use the L2a4 Premium with the L2PL at 11.3 and its still quite competitive), and I personally prefer my Type 10/ TKX over any of my Russian tanks due to their gun handling and the fact I can reverse. Abrams I find about on par with Russian MBTs, albeit with a very different play style and Challenger 2 is hands down the worst. I don’t have the other nations high enough to have an opinion on their MBTs.
The only advantages that the 2S38 has over the Strf 9040C are its IRST tracking, gun elevation, and its (new) first-stage ammo storage, but it has a worse fire rate. The Lvkv 9040C mitigates the lack of IRST of the Strf 9040C and some of the elevation difference, as well as giving it a radar(better than the 2S38). I have played all the vehicles mentioned, and a higher fire rate is better than a larger ammo pool. You give no reason that the 2S38 is overpowered, only spewing the RuSSiaN BiaS crap. If you played the game you would know the 2S38 is easy to take out, that is if you don’t have the mental capacity of a goldfish. It has no armor, its crew is all in the same spot, its ammo is right in the center, and it is autoloaded which means it has a lot of weaknesses that you can exploit. If you try and attack it head-on using a plane, you are going to get shot down, just like you would facing any other vehicle that has enough elevation to shoot at you. If you want to complain about a vehicle, use actual evidence not just personal attacks and rhetoric.
The so call “Only Advantages” you call, is much more than your “Disadvantage”, dude come, give me a break!!!
Lmao seriously?
Maybe buy it, play it and see for yourself how “OP” it actually is…
buy it?? LMFAO, dude
2S38 is still broken as heck. It shouldn’t be as survivable as it is… especially with the lack of spalling.
I see nothing in those screenshots that are unique to 2S38.
Spalls identically to your tank [I know cause I use it], 2nd shot you missed ammo which is a normal wiffed shot.
1st screenshot I can’t tell, but it looks like you missed ammo on that one as well.
First one should’ve killed at least two crew members, if not, the ammunition rack.
The second one, zero spalling. If it were a STRF, it would have spalled everywhere.
You can even see the spall getting absorbed by the fuel tank on the fist one.
And we’re suppose to find this ‘damage model change’ to be a nerf?
Spalling occurred just fine in the 2nd, it just hit the other side of the hull and the autoloader.
Exactly, that’s the job of fuel tanks, universal on all tanks.
Relying on spall to cover for aiming mistakes will lead to more situations like this against all tanks, not just 2S38.
So happens that the 2S38 is broken, in such that its fuel tank blocks all shrapnel to protect crew members (making it as survivable as the Lvkv).
Do you seriously believe that Challenger 2 as on the same level as T-90M ? Go get your brain checked please. Challenger 2 is 10.7 MBT at best and Challenger 3 11.0
2S38 is functioning correctly, thus not broken.
Fuel tanks are functioning correctly as their secondary job is to block spall.
And if you mean broken as in OP: All tanks function this way, 2S38 is not special.
If it’s functioning correctly, it’s survivability is insane and deserves an uptier to 10.3 or 10.7.
Yes they’re good except by mobility which shares almost same performance compared to T-90M at short ranges.
@AlvisWisla is correct about the fuel tanks being anti-spall, its the reason they are put in the front of the tank to begin with. Additionally the 2S38 is built out of ABT-102 aluminum alloy that is specifically designed to be low spall at the cost of some hardness.
no, you need to learn how to deal with it like any other tank in the game. from your screen shots I can see you are not carrying HE or HEAT rounds that will over pressure and destroy it with a single hit to the turret, so start with that.
