I’ve seen alot of people arguing that the addition of turret baskets/auto loaders/ advanced module were good/bad/What we voted for. But it looks like a lot of people had different views on them.
Here’s the original post for it [RoadMap] Results of polling on the new points in the Road Map - News - War Thunder (Back before the 2s38 had its “advanced module”)
Now i know i wont get everything, but here’s some polls.

When it comes to implementation of the advanced modules, How in depth should they go?
As much as the game can handle (I want to see everything the Real one had)
Just enough to feel like your driving an actual tank (Having most advanced features and failsafes modeled)
Just enough advanced modules to effect gameplay (Turret baskets/auto loader/battery/1-2 failsafes)
Return to the original models (No advanced modules)

Would you still like turret baskets added? (As they play a large part in gameplay, they’ll get a seperate poll)(Added 4 hours after post)
Yes, More tanks should have them
No, They shouldn’t have been added
Possibly (They should be added, but should have a different effect on gameplay)

Would you like to see Planes get advanced modules? (added 10 Min after post was made)
My initial vote was no.
However my current status is supporting modules since they should be here to stay on all vehicles whenever they’re finished and ready to be added.
All playable assets should have as much modeled as can be practically implemented, across the board. No matter which nation. No matter TT or premium.
Some people want to twist this in to a “you just want it to make [insert favorite pet tank here] weaker!” Which is silly. No. It should be for all, and favor no one.
The Problems With Damage Models In War Thunder
This video sums it up very well.
We need reworked damage models for aircraft, alongside modules.
More modules in tanks would add realism but potentially hurt gameplay.
that’s the main decision to be made here I feel.
I will say the turret basket additions for the Leo 2 are frustrating. I don’t mind the other additions such as power modules etc, but the baskets are huuuugggeee.
IL2:GB is aiming towards that direction per their latest devblog, so I feel it’s only fair Warthunder maintains parity given its history as being an off-shoot of an IL2 game.
I’d especially love if engine damage was more than just a drop in horsepower and instead caused issues with gear switching, radiator control, prop pitch/RPM control or ability to throttle things as well as the HP drop.
I’d love if we had sth like radio/electrical systems getting shot out would remove team-chat and quick-messaging (T-4-1 and the like).
I’d love if you could hit guns in the wings and doing so jam them or maybe even cause an ammo-rack like you can with bombs already.
I think you should add a vote for the turret baskets in specific
I still support the advanced modules things like the FCS optics power systems ect are all good
But the turret baskets are the only bad part imo maybe it would have been fine if they added them as a separate part that affected spall and stuff but currently it just makes the hitbox for the ring way too huge on every single vehicle its implemented on
Would love it on all vehicles, especially on planes. Imagine shooting a critical part of the jet that controls its A2G with FCS, SMS, CCIP electronics etc… Will no longer be able to fire it either land or unable to drop the load as it crashes etc…
I did some research online, found out if the Stores management system (SMS) is damaged, the pilot cannot fire its weapons for all jets that have it. Even the CCIP can be damaged unbaling CAS from dropping precise strikes and dropping bombs, rockets if SMS still functional. Direct wired bomb rack on older jets or planes can also be damaged unbaling the plane from dropping its payload without the use of computer input. Basically drop them manually.
In WT, they don’t have that modeled in, jets can still fire their weapons after being damaged and drop their bombs and fire A2A missiles etc…Got to even the playing field against tanks you know. Tanks have damage modules, helis are still getting their modules, jets should also receive that.
imagine if you shoot down the Power generators of a Eurofighters the cockpit turns off but you can still fly with the Take me home panel and on batterypower
