I explained to someone who was complaining about being one shot in the cupola in his m48 and his response was. I voted no because i thought it would make the games go on for longer… I just cant fathom people wanting shorter games, i literally cannot understand it as the times ive had fun is when ive had to fight for it…

Im still confused why gaijin kept the 25minute game timer for top tier as it takes 5 just to get to the battle in supersonics… EC maps should be 40 minimum to give bombers time to actually get bombs off as fuck us for wanting to actually grind.

The games devolved jnto absolute nonsense man, as you stated, dude voted against an aphe change that would of solved a good few issues, because, he thought it would make games longer.

Fox’s APDS was already “nerfed”, and Object 140 is worse than everything British.

i should of phrased the object 140 part better apoligies.

I mean essentially all these discussions n suggestions going on and they add yet another premium to one of the big three.

Also do you think itll be 8.3 or 8.7? As the object 435 is 8.7.

I personally believe gaijin should devote some time to resolving some of the more glaring issues with the gameplay loop, try to make arb more engaging across the board.

Make GRB more interactive to try prevent one death leaving, and the madness that is top tier ground and those kinds of things.

As goth said, someone told him they voted against the aphe change, because they didnt want the games to last too long. Its madness.

Aye i love the chieftains as well, find them thoroughly enjoyable tanks to use.

I umm and ahh about the Chieftain Mk 3 going back to 8.3, in many ways it’s only minor improvements over the Conqueror.

Mobility:

  • Top Speed: Conqueror 35 forward and 12 reverse. Chieftain 41 forward and 10 reverse.
  • Power-to-weight: Conqueror 12.3 hp/t. Chieftain 12.1 hp/t.

So Chieftain really only has a 6km/h advantage over the Conqueror but is slower in reverse.

Armour:

  • Turret: Conqueror 152-313 mm + 14mm at 0-68°. Chieftain 125-250 mm at 2-81°.
  • Hull Upper: Conqueror 130mm + 20mm + 14mm at 59°. Chieftain 70 to 127 mm at 43-79°.
  • Hull Lower: Conqueror 76 mm at 44°. Chieftain 76.2 mm at 43-44°.

Arguably the Conqueror is better protected in many ways. Those 14mm burster plates especially eat HEAT, HESH, and HE.

Firepower:

  • Penetration Flat 500m: Conqueror 474mm. Chieftain 288mm.
  • Penetration 60° 500m: Conqueror 132mm. Chieftain 165mm.
  • Reload: Conqueror 14.9s. Chieftain 7.5s.
  • Gun Constraints: Conqueror -7°/15°. Chieftain -10°/20°.
  • Turret Traverse: Conqueror 16.3°/s. Chieftain 22.5°/s.
  • Smoke: Both.
  • Rangefinder: Both.
  • Commander Override: Conqueror only.

This is where the Chieftain really wins, but are any of these really worth a 1.0 BR increase? The Mk 5 is fine, due to far better mobility (and a LRF in future).

Lots of things, the gun handling alone of Chieftain mk3 compare to Conquerer is just unmatched, also the apds that Chieftain uses seems to shatter a lot less, plus the reload time basically confirmed it’s a direct upgrade. It seems like there is no contest at all but I would like the mk3 to go down to 8.3 for sure.

I haven’t had L15 APDS shatter at all even when going out of my way to make deliberately awful shots against spaced and high angle armour. It’s vastly superior to the conqs APDS due to modifiers not shown on the stat card.

I’ve been playing the Conqueror a ton recently and haven’t seen it shatter for awhile. It’s Maus hunting season, and the Conqueror is great against them. Not sure if I’ve just been very lucky or if Gaijin changed something.

As I said, that’s where the Chieftain really wins but I don’t think that’s worth an entire 1.0 BR increase. Especially considering how the Mk 3 is redundant when the Mk 5 is far better (and will only get better once the LRF report is actioned).

I don’t know if I should even bother with the Mk5 after I’ve nearly spaded the Olifant. I find the LRF and punchy APFSDS really good, and the thing can still tank a hit despite its very unimpressive armour profile.

The cheiftain also has far more efficient armour in 8.3 in my experience due to the fact the conq is quite flat and is an easy one tap even for most 7.3

The 120mm cannon is potent as well even in full 9.7 uptiers., the apds on the chieftain is a far better apds than on conquoror.

The mk3 is fine at 8.7 tbh

Yes it is worth an entire br increase. The mk3 chieftain in a 7.7 downtier is a monster.
Never mind against 7.3s, we do not want more compression.

PLUS with the recent round of decompression (still need more) the chieftains side in a nicr little space right now, things like the leo2k can no longer bully them.

I only played it for one game the other night and didn’t get any. Used to be multiple per game

As I said, the only notable differences between Conqueror and Chieftain Mk 3 are gun handling stats. If you can kill the Conqueror you can kill the Chieftain. Would I prefer decompression? Absolutely. We’ve discussed what I’d prefer in other threads. Though if we don’t get decompression I don’t think the Chieftain moving to 8.3 is going to break the game, the Chieftain Mk 5 is simply far better than the Mk 3 (and that gap will only widen once Gaijin give it a LRF). 7.3 isn’t a very popular BR anyway due to lack of vehicles.

I’d actually argue the Conqueror fighting 6.7’s is more of a monster than the Chieftain fighting 7.3’s.

As someone stated above the mk3 is arguably in the best place its been in a long ,long time.
Also put the dozer blade on the mk3 and compare it to the conqueror its protection is better with it on.

Using the amx10m is a bit of a cheap comparison that missile can take top tier tanks never mind 8.7s
