I’ve been killed through the ufp by Leopard 1 using HEATFS, other times by the cheese wedge to the right side of the ufp with APDS.
I haven’t had any such issues firing 105mm HEATFS at an Object 279.
If you’re using HEAT, and assuming he’s flat head on, aim for the flatest section of hull armor you can get. Be prepared to aim slightly high and right, as hitting too low and center risks just knocking out the driver.
For APDS, you have only two pixel wide shots front on, drivers port and the very tip where the LFP meets the UFP. Don’t waste your shot there, try the barrel instead if you’re forced, or disengage.
Be careful when facing it sideon, it can actually bounce APDS even flat if you aim poorly. Look for the exposed turret ring, the side armor bulges out and normalizes to make room for it, and this is paper thin. Even high pen APHE can get through.
Also, you don’t need to come into the forums for this. Use the ingame protection analysis, that’ll give you a decent idea of where to aim.
