Oh wait my mistake I thought you mean the AMD french my mistakes
It’s more like other nations start catching up to how comically handheld Germany is.
Prioritise parts, gun handling and performance (suspension counts for non-stabilised tanks), manoeuvrability then additional systems. NVD is 100% useless outside of TVD.
This is nonsense.
@KurumiTokisaki_1 do not take this adivce.
Shooting lower plate usually only gets the driver.
If it has no composite, shoot the upper plate. It will take out the driver, gunner and commander, a 1 shot.
You do not need HEAT. Maybe against a long range IS-3/4/7, Object 279 and those sort of things.
Use mainly APDS.
You can also take a few HESH, but only against IS-3/4, Conqueror, T29/30/34, and shoot them right above the gun in the turret roof.
Against composite T-55, shoot the turret.
Also i’d recommend you to ditch germany, and start with another nation. China or Sweden.
They are better for new players.
Players who start with germany will likely be very bad, and labelled as wehraboos. We have enough trash germany mains popping smoke everywhere. Germany is not a new player friendly nation.
I am not saying this as an insult, i don’t know how good player you are, i just gave your this as a general advice.
uhh ok? bad advice from bad advisor, so no harm done to me anyway
What do you mean?
I’d recommend never bringing HESH at all because any situation you can use HESH in you can also use HEAT or HEAT-FS in and it won’t take up extra ammo storage by bringing even more rounds.
It is extremely effective against certain heavy tanks.
Conqueror, M103, Is-3, Is-4, T29, T30, T34 will get 1shotted if you hit their turret roof above the gun.
I would also recommend starting with either the US, USSR, or China. Germany has a lot of good vehicles, but for a starter, the US, USSR, and China are probably better, especially China because it gives you the experience of American and Soviet vehicles in 1 tree.
Edit: I’d also recommend starting with China because out of every tree in the game, China has by far the most room for expansion and so grinding China now will put you in a really good spot for them getting a bunch more stuff as time goes.
I know it’s very effective against those tanks, but I don’t see the trade-off as worth it considering that while it may be extremely effective against those tanks, you can use HEAT for those situations too and 70% of the time it’ll work, while also not making the trade-off of bringing extra ammo which makes you easier to kill.
It is already an easy kill. Bringing 1-2 of them will not do anything.
True.
LFP is consistently the best way to take out russian tanks.
as for the M48s, theyre pretty much fodder so their LFP being trolly isnt an issue
and please, HEAT is one of the best shells for the leo 1.
not my issue someone cant use it
HEAT is slow, gets caught up in everything, deals less post pen damage, gets negated by early ERA/composite, or even spaced armor.
APDS is just better in every way except when you shoot a heavy at long range.
With T-64 and upwards. Not with T-44/54/55/62.
just know where to shoot at. and i was talking abt HEATFS
early APDS sucks because of angle modifiers and low pen
as for the LFP, the APDS doesnt go thru the UFP so the LFP is a consistent way to shred them
They are the same in these regards. I was also obviously talking about HEAT-FS, since the Leo has no regular HEAT, i am just lazy.
No issue since it is not early APDS. It is coded as second gen but behaves more like 3rd gen APDS.
That is just blatantly false and stupid.
leo HEATFS is decently fast, it does take some getting used to but overall is more universal than APDS even though APDS is my preferred round
its the first APDS germany gets lol wdym
u do u ig
No it is not universal. It can’t pen even the worst ERA, it can’t pen composite, it can’t go through even the smallest bush, let alone fence walls, which APDS ignores, and even tho it is not a slow shell, it is still slower than APDS.
And it has nothing to do with which generation it is.
Also thanks for showing that you lack essential game knowledge.
??
Well, you’re an MBT, so you can push objectives at decent speeds, close to some light tanks. Sadly, the “early” Leopard 1 doesn’t have a STAB, so get to a sniping spot and just sit there, once you get to the 1A1 and forward, you have a stabilizer, so get fast and stay fast during the match, your mobility is your strength, and so is your gun. Pop in and out of view, on hilly maps, get where you can watch enemies and peek to hit them, your going to have gun depression advantage over the T-54/55’s, and a decent stabilizer. Don’t brawl, you don’t have armor to just shrug off hits, instead, let others go ahead, scout, and then move in to have a better chance. Use your guns high power and accuracy to hit targets far away with ease, don’t be disappointed on the first few matches if they’re bad, just keep trying, and as all MBT’s must, keep awareness constantly. This is from someone who regularly plays MBT’s Orthodox and Not, I’m just using my experience on the Centureon, and my Knowledge on the Pz.Kpfw. Leopard 1 to formulate it.
Ammo, the DM12 APDS is good, very good, Sweden gets it on the Centureon at the same BR. My personal experience, just point and aim on almost everything. On light tank, just shoot center mass, on the weird Russian arty and anti-tank things (2s3m and Obj 120) use your HEAT or HESH (although the HESH is buggy af), or snipe out their gunner and ammo. I usually just 1 shot everything with the APDS though. If you’re curious what the Swedish version of the ammo is, I believe it’s the Slpprj m/61 (Look to the Strv 101 for stats, as the Strv 103’s gun caliber length is longer, and has more Pen and Velocity) The ammo load I carry for me Strv 101 is 12 APDS, 4 HESH, and 2 Smokes (I think the Leopard has HEAT and not smoke) it’s all about personal preference though, I prefer APDS, as it’s just standard for me.
Hope this helps! :D
