actualy DM73 doesnt, its DM53/63 on crack, they just puit more/better propellant into it, DM73 is not a newly desgined round, thats the DM83 you are looking for
Exactly, SPANISH_AVENGER! That anti-ERA tip omission is the perfect example of what I mean by an artificial nerf. Gaijin deliberately leaves out historical features like DM53’s anti-ERA tip and the 2A7V’s D-Tech hull armor just to keep Russian ERA (like Kontakt-5 and Relikt) overperforming. This is why German top-tier feels so frustrating to play right now. We are fighting historically accurate (or buffed) opponents with incomplete, stripped-down vehicles.
Is that so?
If then, I have no idea how at least Leclerc S.XXI and Leclerc AZUR (the more modern variants) still doesn’t have it.
In my opinion: Leclerc S1 and Leclerc S2 should be 12.3 with F1, and S.XXI, AZUR and a potentially upcoming XLR should be 12.7 with SHARD.
Hopefully, as more Relikt tanks are implemented, Gaijin will begin to lose that fear of adding anti-Kontakt-5 shell features.
I understand that they avoided this while K-5s were the backbone of their Top Tier; but now that they’ve got 3x 12.7 Relikt tanks, I believe it is time for NATO 12.7s to start not having to struggle penning Russian 11.0-12.0s.
Germany has one of the best top tier tanks or THE best top tier 2A7V with good armor, fire power, mobility and in my opinion the best SPAA in game second to the SM-SV. What Germany NEEDS is better players.
Why would Germany get the 2E we have the 2a6EX
I think SAMPT is the better SAM. IRIS-T does not even work against MI-28NM’s force field (the biggest threat in the entire game, that little sht and its LMUR spam).
This isn’t about whether the 2A7V is a bad tank or a player skill issue. The core of the problem is the artificial limitations and historical inaccuracies currently imposed on the German top-tier lineup. There are clear, source-backed documentation gaps regarding the missing D-Tech hull armor and the omitted anti-ERA properties of the DM53 shell. Balancing the game by stripping away real-life capabilities of NATO vehicles while keeping opponent armor profiles fully optimized is what creates the unfair meta. Players simply want historical accuracy, not artificial balance.
Hey buddy July 2025 wants its opinion back.
Because Leopard 2A6EX had 1st G*n “thermals”, which I despise with all of my heart and which are the ONLY reason why I don’t play the Strv 122s, hahah.
Leopard 2E has 2nd gen thermals on the other hand.
I also have a bias towards actual production and service vehicles, even if foreign, rather than prototypes or demonstrators, but it’s primarily the thermals for me.
And it’s not German. The German options should be the focus before irrelevant exports. Germany does not need exports
So you would rather have a G*n 1 “thermals” prototype over a production and service Gen 2 thermals vehicle?
Ew.
If it’s about German vehicles, at least let it be an actually produced and commissioned option… ideally, one with actually good thermals;
Leopard 2A8, Leopard 2A7A1, Leopard 2A6A3… (base Leopard 2A7 too, I believe?)
better thermals
doesnt matter in this case, prototypes/tech demonstrators /exports are on the same lvl.
Only in service would be sth different
we do, i want my KF41 and KF51
To bring the discussion back to the main point: whether it’s adding the Leopard 2A8 or fixing the 2A7V’s historical armor and giving it the DM73 ammunition, Germany’s top-tier lineup needs a definitive upgrade path. The community clearly agrees that the current performance gaps—whether in hull armor or projectile anti-ERA mechanics—are artificial. Implementing either of these solutions is the only logical way to restore balance and historical accuracy to the German tech tree
So far Kf51 and kf51U only place would be in Germany. They’ve yet to be exported
Where would russian tanks be in game without their ERA? And artificial nerfs to NATO? I rather the balance now than what it could be realistically especially since most things at top tier are classified
Isn’t the 2EX technically an Export demonstrator?
Exactly so as well, lmao.
2A6EX is the export demonstrator that evolved into 2A6E (2E) and 2A6HEL.
So Leo2A6EX-live basically does not want active service “irrelevant export vehicles”, while fully supporting the implementation of the prototype of said export vehicles…?
That’s in the name yea but it’s the German one unlike the 2E and 2HEL
