Leopard 2A8

Both are improvements.

so those are ok with you? just the APS which half the time doesnt even work in the game?

T-90M is still a joke and the SEPv3 trades mobility for armor, so that makes the SEPv3 almost a sidegrade to the SEPv1.

Again they are still improvements.

Clearly Germany just doesn’t need a APS tank

nah the 2a7a1 is ok, but the combination is weird?

It’s not an improvement if you have to take a considerable hit in another area lmao.

Would the 2A7V be an improvement over the 2A6 if it only had DM33 as it’s top dart?

Yes. The armour difference is insane and dm33 is useable because no top tier armour has changed all have the same weaknesses

Chinas MBT argueably the worst of them all at Top Tier. VT4A1 literally is an 12BR MBT sitting at 12.7 for whatever reason. Gaijin isn’t even giving them their ERA on the Side (Imagine them doing that with an T-Series MBT) and the Spall Liner Model of the VT4…isn’t even covering the Autoloader nor full Side. ZTZ99A to this Day has none at all. M1A2 is insanely better.

the 2a8 does so as well just saying

2A8 is based on already easily the best top tier MBT in game, which is my problem with it exactly.

Germany receiving the 2A7+ and 2A7A1 (trophy) in the same update would be identical to the US receiving the SEPv3 and M1A2 trophy together this update.

Isn’t based on any leopard in game. Its brand new in every aspect

Theres no special designation / name for it. Is just ZTZ99A with APS but ZTZ99B exists with APS as well and new/better 125mm Gun. So Gaijin would probably add an ZTZ99A with APS and the ZTZ99B without it.

ZTZ-100 also exists with APS. And we now know that China is making another ‘proper’ (since the ZTZ-100 is more like an Medium/Light Tank and has 105mm Gun) new MBT but so far we have only seen it covered under a tarp.

2A8 will just have the armour the 2A7 in game should have. You must know how this works by now.

but we know that wont happen.
The 2a7V already likely only was an addition with leos quick after another cause of their horrible decisions.

There is so many leo variants gajin just doesnt want to add. Other nations dont want mbts anymore, germany one of the few to actively ask for more.

But germany receiving 2 mbts in one patch? yeah not happening
as Smin himself nicely showed of, germanys additions in the last 5 updates were abysmal in top tier

was a realy dry year for germany.

Cause of this we have to go for the best case scenario, cause we aint getting anything again after that

You’re right about the DM73.

However, the Leopard 2A8 has not yet been delivered. The Bundeswehr itself states this:

“2027 sollen die ersten neuen Leoparden in die Truppe kommen. Ziel ist, das bis 2030 alle 123 Panzer in den Kasernen stehen.”

And there is no unit yet that has the Leopard 2A8, apart from single testing units as far as I know. But I dont have any sources for that claim.

Well it is delivered. Its just in the testing phase not operational

Okay, but may I ask why the Leopard 2A7V is based on an older prototype and why it was weakened? You need to be realistic and state that. The 2A7V uses DM73 ammunition and actually has the D-Tech protection package, but that package wasn’t even applied to the 2A7V in the game. Okay, if the 2A8 wasn’t added based on what you’re saying is realistic, then why was the 2A7V weakened and portrayed differently in the game than it actually is?

I’ll give you that point with the DM73.
I cannot say why the Leopard 2A7V is implemented the way it is. I don’t agree with Gaijin on that point either. However, I think the question of adding the Leopard 2A8 is different from the question of the correct implementation of the Leopard 2A7V.

I appreciate that we agree on the 2A7V’s missing DM73 and historical inaccuracies. However, they are directly connected. Germany’s top-tier lineup is artificially held back. If Gaijin refuses to model the 2A7V correctly for ‘balance’ reasons, adding the 2A8 is the only logical step to bridge the gap and give German players a competitive MBT that matches the performance of other nations’ top-tier vehicles.
