Because for all i know, the models are flawed af, with armour holes, and incorrect geometry literally everywhere, i wouldn’t fully rely on in game x-ray
it’s like, just remember kt105, with the rangefinder being literally inside the breach, i just, i’d be very careful with examining in game models

Id bet money Smin isnt going to bother answering how to provide the email as a proper source. Gaijins orders are likely that the Leo 2’s are to be nerfed this update and nothing we can provide will change that. Absolute joke of a company. First new top tier for Germany in 3y and they slap it and the other German top tiers with a nerf before it even comes to live and shoot down every bug report trying to fix it lmao
- First the moronic armour situation in which they claim the Strv122 has newer armor than the 2A7V (which is itself ~25y newer…)
- Then getting screwed on DM53’s anti-ERA capabilities when M829A3 got them
- Now a major gun depression nerf and refusal to add IRST target lock
They’re trying to bury the leopards, and they arent even trying to hide it.

I’d want a better response from KNDS that would go into specifics before I am comfortable accepting the existence of a -7.4 gun depression.

Nope, they said they wouldnt add target tracking to all previous leo 2 variants because it wasnt true target tracking, and now that the 2A8 came with a source stating the commander optic has target tracking and fully works in tandem with the gunner sight, they’ve said a lot of things that were debunked, but eventually settled on “not adding target tracking for the commanders sight”.
Before then they came up with some truly spectacularly stupid answers such as the commanders CITV having target tracking doesn’t prove that it has target tracking when installed on the tank, or that target tracking doesn’t mean automatic tracking. At one point one of the BRM said his cellphone could do tracking but couldnt guide a tank gun so the source saying the CITV has target tracking is irrelevant lmao.
Absolute clownshow.

How about a video from the Norwegian army during the inauguration of their new Leopard 2A8 showing no such sight being in the way but still att the end showing a placard with the -7.xx degree depression limit?

And if this is about norwegian 2a8, then sure, but how does information about norwegian 2a8 correlate to 2a7v, 2a7hu and last but not least, german 2a8, that may have a different configuration ?

Well currently 2A8NO & 2A8 both share the “same” turret.
2A7HU has its own? turret.
2A7 has a turret that looks strikingly like the 2A6 turret with more roof room compared to the 2A7HU & 2A8s.
-7.67 seems to make sense with the screenshot I shared as well, as there is still room for a bit more gun depression on the 2A8.
I’m gonna sign onto live server to get gun depression of 2A7V.
I don’t have 2A7HU test-drivable on live server sadly.
If anyone does, I’d like a turret-side-aspect screenshot of it fully depressed in test drive with X-Ray.
