That isn’t called balance it called lazy and careless they used Russian document for Russian vehicle and Russian’s document reputation of being notorious Marketing lie than a Eurofighter, but they didn’t use the same document logic when it came to western document (infamous marketing lie of Eurofighter remember?)
Yeah youre right that its lazy and all but despite this its still balance. The 2A7 is already a lot better than the russian tanks and the Eurofighter is also at least on par with the SU30SM (better if they fixed the goddamn radar finally) so putting them on their realistic level would just lead to a one sided curbstomp every single time. Or theyd need to put everything to such a high br that russian stuff couldnt match
First of all it can do that irl but im not saying that it should come to that in the game
Pls read my entire comment
Thing like this can be adjust if they do their job properly and big team like Gaijin probably can within a week
but they just won’t.
Exactly — Gaijin always leans on “balance,” but the pattern is clear: every NATO 12.0 vehicle feels held back, while the Russian ones are allowed to shine.
Look at IRIS-T SLM vs Buk. IRIS-T should be one of the most advanced SHORADs in the world, yet in WT its range and seeker logic are nerfed so hard it feels unreliable. Meanwhile Buk sits there with far more dependable tracking and longer reach.
Same with Typhoon + Brimstones vs Russian CAS loadouts. Brimstones in real life are radar fire-and-forget, but in game they’re just Hellfires that need babysitting. Compare that to Russian Kh-29T or Kh-38, which do get their proper FAF modeling.
And on the ground, NATO top-tier tanks are consistently modeled “conservatively” on armor — Leopard and Abrams weak spots “everywhere”, racks blowing instantly, turret out of commission — while Russian MBTs like the BVM get their ERA modeled at near best-case values, turning them into damage sponges.
So it’s not just one weapon or one nation. It’s across the board: NATO kit gimped, Russian kit tuned to perform at or above brochure, all in the name of “balance.”
yes because going for full realism would either result in a one sided curbstomp or in a new BR range where every game is just blufor vs blufor excluding one of the largest playerbases. Obviously Gaijin wants to avoid that and as long as the different treatment doesnt become to crazy im fine with that. (not saying that im fine with the current situation btw)
Would be nice if they fix mechanical radars in general.
I agreed that why i said sometimes they don’t need to be on document that much thing like this can be adjust for sake of balance
problem is Gaijin just won’t do it.
And even these conservatively modeled NATO MBTs blow most, if not all, of the top tier Russian MBTs out of the water in game already lol.
Yes but none of them are ARH ATGMS
Except Challenger 2 and Ariete
its absolute dog s**t nothing in the game come close to both.
I mean they do. The 2A7s armor is the perfect example. Its a lowball based on a swedish test trial from the 90s. Obviously that has very little to do with a 2010s production 2A7V but its still good enough to be the best tank in the game. Same goes for most other NATO tanks or god forbid the butchered Leclerc AZUR and Challenger 3 TD
That does not make sense at all they can at least make it armor on par with Strv122 and call it a day (copy and paste) i mean Strv 122B+ have more armor with side and roof armor still weight less than 2A7V who only have longer gun (and better thermal which I doubt it weight a ton) with less armor yet still heavier and slower than Strv122B+ weight ratio it don’t really match if they make 2A7V weight less and faster then okay it make sense.
It doesnt make sense, youre right. But the 2A7 gets a better gun, better round and better thermals so its again an example for Gaijin playing loose with documents to balance things. A 2A7 with its round and gun combined with STRV armor would just wipe the floor with most other things and would need to go at a higher br which Gaijin wants to avoid for some reason
NATO vehicles are artificially nerfed and that’s a fact.
Russia always has to be one step ahead of everyone in WT.
The marketing lies in russian documents are something else and Gaijin belives it, my favourite example is the Hellfire family, all stats are or at least were from russian documents, making them seem weak, russia ofc had to get Vikhrs with some tweaks that buffed them “to make it more game-friendly”
Yeah, I get that, full realism would definitely be a mess in a mixed-matchmaker game. Nobody’s asking for literal one-sided stompers. (Which we all know russia has been more than once and a long time) But the problem is Gaijin doesn’t apply the same “balance filter” across the board.
When it’s NATO kit, they balance by removing core features: IRIS-T nerfed into mediocrity, Brimstones turned into Hellfires, Leo/Abrams armor modeled conservatively so they pop on side shots. When it’s Russian kit, the balancing goes the other way, ERA modeled at best-case values, Buk far more reliable than its Western counterparts, and top MBTs that can shrug off shots they really shouldn’t.
So yeah, balance is needed, but it should cut both ways. Right now it feels like one side gets trimmed down while the other side gets the brochure-gloss treatment. That’s where the frustration comes from. I guess im just venting for someone who listens, i have been playing since 2013 and its always the same thing, i love the game, but i hate what the company does to it, or rather how they do it
Like i said im not happy with the current sitation either. The LMUR, DIRCM combo is already annoying me especially since Russia has the only SACLOS capable of outranging the new AGMs. And the past KH38MT+Pantsir situation wasnt balanced either.
But there is pretty much no real way for Gaijin to balance the game except for BR asymmetry other than removing core features that are justs stronger than their counterpart.
My personal 2 cents: Give everyone realistic capabilities and pull up the 2A7 and the IRIS-T to 12.7 so people can decide. If they want to bring their SU30 then let them face those things at full strenght. If you have a combined arms gamemode then balance it along the combination not every vehicle type for itself.
If we can buff every APFSDS to historically accurate penetration, sure.
With realistic capabilities the 2A7(s) should move up to 13.3 assuming no other MBT gets moved up.
The opener to every double standard.
