Why is the Leopard 2A5 at 12.0? you essentially just have a Leopard 2A4 hull and good turret armor and thats all, while the M1A1 HC is at 11.7, both share the same round and bassicly the same traits, im just curious on everyone else’s opinion
The 2A5 is by far the worst 12.0 Leopard, but that’s not because it’s overtiered. Rather, every other 12.0 Leo (plus a tonne of other top tier MBTs) are undertiered as we haven’t had any sort of decompression in years despite a dramatic increase in vehicle capability.
That being said, I’d love to see the 2A5 lose DM53 and drop to 11.3, where Germany has an enourmous hole.

M1A1 HC if anything is under-BR’d.
Leopard 2A5 will forever have a permanent place on my 12.0 German lineup due to its shorter barrel and classic status.
Especially when the primary differences between 2A5 and 2A7V is 2A7V has a bit more hull armor and a slower top speed.
2A5 is nice variety among 2A7V.
That and Click Bait should go to 12.0.

every leopard 2 ingame except the Strv122s and the 2a7V are oneshot (upper hull)
2a4 arent even worth talking about since anything can lolpen its turret
and 2a5 and 2a6 which use the 2a4 hull can be taken out by anything it faces
i rather use the PSO than the 2a5/6 because of the dozer which you can use to dig some cover for your weak hull
The 11.7 Abrams are undertiered. They only lack thermal generation vs their 12.0 SEP counterpart, they should be 12.0.
Add in the M1A2 and AIM.
The only thing that changes for the Leopard 2a5/6 that make it good are the Keiler, ammo and for the 2a6 new gun

I think the Leopard 2A5 is fine at 12BR. Not much different from Leopard 2A6. 2A6 just has bit more penetration and nothing else afaik. My personal performance in the two with ~200 Battles in each is almost 1:1 identical.
Imo the really overtiered MBTs are Chinese ones. 99A, VT4A1, WZ1001…those are like 11.3 MBTs at best. Longest Reload, weakest Darts, worst Armour, no non-exploding Ammo Carousel or Spall Liners or Dart-absorbing ERA at the Side…Front is full with lots of giant weakspots making the Armour/ERA it has on Front also completely useless 99% of cases. Good Mobility it has also useless 'cause you can’t use it to get to nice Spots due to non-existent Gun Depression, long Reload and dying to everything one hit
Leopard 2A5, or rly anything, is much better. I don’t mind it being at 12BR but after having unlocked the PSO and 2A7V i only ever field it when i don’t have anything else left over.

Leopard 2A4 uses B Technologie, Leopard 2A5 and 2A6 use C technologie.

Dude’s post is out here indirectly calling 3BM60 among the weakest darts.
Calling 600 - 750+ mm of armor “weakest” when M1A1 AIM, Leclerc, Ariete, Merkava Mk4, Type 10, and Challenger 2s all have weaker armor than ZTZ99A and VT-4.
No tanks have non-exploding carousels either.
No tanks have dart-absorbing ERA on the side.
T-80BVM sized weakspots while not ideal is not as bad as you’re portraying.
DTC10-125 is among the weakest Darts. It only has 570mm of penetration with an 7.1 Second long Reload. Other Nations Tank have not just Darts with almost a hundred more penetration but also multiple seconds faster Reload…at the same BR. Or in case of France which i saw has slightly weaker APFSDS than the DTC10-125 they at least got among the fastest Reload and gun depression…and yknow a whooping six 12BR MBTs…Chinas entire 12BR Line Up isn’t even that large lol.
About the Armour continue reading. Also M1A1 AIM is 11.7 not 12BR. The front Armour of the ZTZ99A also doesn’t matter at all due to reasons i arleady gave. And it is not as high as you say it is because Gaijin nerfed it in-Game from what it has IRL.
And also theres multiple bug reports some almost two years old…of the Armour being bugged on 99A/VT4A1 and they haven’t fixed it. You can penetrate an angled VT4A1 at the UFP with DM33…

Happens quite often too…DM53 right into Side of T-90M / T-80BVM. Enjoy the ERA absorbing 99% of it and the Dart not even managing to pass through the Spall Liner after that. I even had an TURMS LFP ERA tank my 2A4s APFSDS in a Match. Its not working correctly.

The Chinese MBTs are by a long-shot the worst 12BR MBTs in the Game and multiple professional Players have called them out to be so as well multiple times like BPA_Jon or Cavenub or a few German Players i watch all agree on that they suck and aren’t anywhere close to the Level of other 12BR MBTs.

No tank uses flat armor at top BR as main armor.
DTC-10 125 has 664mm of penetration at 60 degrees: 332mm RHA steel plate /cos 60 = 664.
Which is inconsequentially different from 3BM60’s 668mm of pen at 60 degrees 100 meters:
OFL F1 is 664mm, the same pen as 3BM60 and DTC-10.
m/95/M332 [Merkava Mk3s and Strv 122s] is 678, a 14mm difference.
L27A1 [Challenger 2s] is 652mm, 12mm less.
USA’s M829A2 is 726mm, which is 62mm more pen, not 100.
Who cares if T-80BVM’s and ZTZ99A’s weakspots are larger than VT-4’s and T-90M’s? There’s still a chance they don’t hit those areas.
The only rounds objectively better than DTC-10 are M829A2, DM53, and M338. And all of them will still bounce off of the turret cheeks of VT-4.
I’ve seen zero videos of ERA absorbing ammo, and I’ve never had ERA absorb my rounds.
Relikt only has 54mm of protection against kinetic rounds, and that’s the best ERA the Soviet tech tree has.
ZTZ99A is a top ten MBT. There are at least 5 MBTs worse than it in other tech trees if not more.
Also you claimed it’s 11.3 capable, so me bringing up a potentially under-BR’d 11.7 is valid.

Finaly someone have sayed that type tank are just worst then the nato variant almost by default in game and the only one kinda close is the bvm but for real chinese tank are just worst russian one. Leo 2a5 is 12 and not 11.7 just becajse the abrams player are known to be ineficent “lets call them this”
I find it balanced (chally 3 at 11.7 if to funny also)
Why would u take 2a5 when u can take 2a6?
