Am I the only one that enjoyed top-tier more when all tanks had longer reloads?
I hate this powercreep where everything slowly started reloading quicker and quicker at top-tier.
We’ve gotten to the point where it’s difficult to take advantage of people missing shots and pushing them before they reload.
Oh im with you on this one but since T-80 reload went down (even tho they didnt need it,i know it was historical change), it only seems fair to at the very least match the new reload speed if thats the new standard when IRL Leo2s can reload much faster.
Besides, im proposing only to match T-80, not Abrams.
He also said that Leopard I has to go down to 6.7.
Only 6.7? Would’ve expected 5.3 at a maximum coming from Thodin.

I was going to make a thread but saw there already was one, the Leo 2A4 is absolutely completely useless. I cannot stand playing this tank now.
It has no advantages over any other tank of the same BR, with Soviet tanks have better armour and firepower, whilst US tanks are faster with better gun handling and slightly higher survivability. (I can’t speak for Chally’s but I know they’re awful as well).
But my biggest issue is the current uptiers vs Soviet tanks and BMPT’s, there’s so many 3BM60 armed tanks at slight uptiers that are playing a point and click adventure vs the tank, as well as the BMPT being a point and click adventure. Meanwhile you’re aiming for the usual Soviet weak spots and DM23 is just deciding to be completely unreliable and useless at times. I have no idea why this round does so little damage or non-pens at times despite it’s good stats on paper.
There needs to be some late 2A4 variants with C-Tech and DM33 added because this is just pure suffering right now.
Germany and some other nations definitely need more stuff added (especially MBTs) at 11.0 and 11.3.
Did a quick comparison sheet between the four 10.7’s, and I know the armour section is iffy because it’s difficult to represent armour in a written form. The T-80B is probably the best protected despite what the figures say.
Regardless, the Leopard 2A4 is perfectly average for it’s BR compared to it’s peers, and being average is fine because that means it’s at it’s correct battle rating.
As for the up-tier complaints: That applies to all 10.7’s, a T-80B gets curbstomped by an IPM1 just the same.
This is a problem of BR compression, not a problem with the 2A4 itself.
Yeah it’s really jarring when you get a few 11.7 players whilst the rest are 10.7 but the enemy nations get those with 11.0/3 tanks as well.
A T-80B is still playing a point and click adventure vs an IPM1 though, also in your comparison (ignoring the Chally) you can see how the Leo either falls flat to the Abrams or T-80B in almost every single metric.
It used to be amazing, my favourite 10.7 tank, but I’m playing it now as Sweden and it’s pure unfiltered suffering.
Maybe it’s more a product of the new environment and added vehicles (B3A, BMPT etc) but there’s certainly room for Leo 2A4 improvements and better variants.
It’s funny how Germany doesn’t even get a single TT MBT in the 11.0 - 12.0 range. Your MBT options are 2A4 and then 2A5, which are more than a full BR apart.
Same goes for Sweden (not including squadron T-80) and probably some more nations. No wonder you feel like shit playing 10.7 which is at the edge of the black hole for Germany.

In fact, a IPM1 has a far easier time penetrating a T-80B than vice versa.
And even if we assume for the moment that that wasn’t the case, the IPM1 and M1 run circles around a T-80B.
Leo 2A4 > T-80B.
War Thunder meta = Mobility + First hit cripple/kill.
The 2A4 has significantly better mobility, gun handling and can easily OHK a T-80B. The Chally Mk.3 and T-80B are the two worst vehicles out of this comparison.
However, I will agree that the M1 takes the lead and when it’s converted to volumetric armour it’ll comfortably be the best 10.7 in the game.

if the leopard 2A4 is 10.7 and I take it to 12.0 and it does fine, it’s 1.3 BRs higher.

He said 12.0/7 so it’s I assumed it’s 12.7 but my point still stands that you can uptier most vehicles and do well enough.
Again the 2A4 does extremely well in upteirs unlike certain other 10.7s.
