258 games is quite a bit.
They still do against spaced armour.

They do but that’s not really easy to find at 8.0.
I’ve played quiet a bit of L7 tanks and shatters were extremely rare.

Conqueror is worse in every single regard imaginable except armor compared to the Leopard 1. With that said, there is literally just about nowhere on the Conqueror 1 that won’t get instantly deleted if DM23 from the Leopard 1 sees it. You can UFP the Conqueror from excessive distances. You can pen the turret of the Conqueror from excessive distances. On top of that, you reload in 2x the speed, you get more damage in your dart than the conqueror does in his APDS despite him using a 120mm with a lengthy reload, you are much faster than him in all regards including turret rotation, hull rotation, hull acceleration, top speed in both forward and reverse gears, etc. You are stabilized on top of all of this which means that he will never in his life get the 1st shot off unless he is pre aimed at a corner and you round it, and even then he might die if he doesnt instantly kill you because you are stabilized and he has a 15-20 second reload.
You can still see them on uptiers quite often all the up armored t55/62 or the ztz 88 hulls shatters them, it can also happen on mantlets and on plates that have an aditional plate on top, the of 40s turret can shatter them quite easily, the conqueror with the aditional plating, the hull of the amx 30s can also shatter on some places
its worse by 12mm, its also for flat pen, which RARELY gets used at this br because most tanks are angled in the front, and their sides at at most 100mm, and thats rare.
instead you gotta look at the 30 and 60 degree performance, and would you look at that, dm23 is better at 60 degree’s. and also it feels like apds is overperforming on 30 degree’s, it shouldnt have that little of a loss in penetration then immediately drop off the cliff.
APDS in general is awful against composites and shooting there is a no-no regardless of the shatter.
Those AMXs have one of the trolliest hulls I’ve seen in this game.
DM23 is obviously better than L7 APDS though.
For example T-55A you could pen it mostly every where, same goes for M48, M60.
You must have a poor understanding of this game. The APDS has marginally more FLAT pen, but the APFSDS rounds have far better ANGLED pen. Just check for yourself. Most things you’ll be fighting have angled armour profiles. That greater flat pen is completely irrelevant.
Besides, the APDS deals far worse post-pen damage.
the issue is Early APDS. You see the difference when using M728 / L15A3 shells. ( hope to get the real L15A5 for the chieftains

Why are you bringing up the HEAT-FS for? You tried to argue that the APFSDS is worse, because of the worse flat penetration, and me as well as others have already explained to you why that isn’t the case.
You for some reason were comparing the 8.0 OF-40 to the 9.0 Leopard, even though the latter has a much better round, and a stab, which makes a huge difference in being able to fire on the move. Fair enough, the OF-40 has a LRF, but at 8.0, it’s not something that puts it in a much higher advantage than anything else, especially when you consider that the maps that you get in the map rotation are mostly urban CQC.
Did I argue that APFSDS or did I argue that it is worse in some situations. And if you can’t see the difference then thats concerning.
