Idk if that would be entirely true. For some sure, but in my case, I haven’t played tanks under like 6.0, and only wanted the top tier ones and I’d consider myself a “Germain Main”
I bought the A1A1-L/44 and grinded that for the whole tree :D

Because Germany is only played by German mains…
german main here, its not only low tier
Gepard carried the lineup for me, I’ve clutched games in that thing, even managed to spawn a nuke after uptier decimated both my leo and marder and i had no sp left
I build lineups around the Gepard, Falcon, etc. For example, my Britain 8.3 lineup is Falcon (usually always first spawn), Warrior, ZA-35, Vickers Mk.3, Striker, Swingfire, with Vampire and Swift F.1 for air. Line-ups built around autocannon spammers are some of my favorite in the entire game. For Germany, if you’ve grabbed the Turm III (highly recommended - grab it during a sale when it’s 50% off), it is a wonderful combo one-two combo with the gepard. I’m not a very big M48/M60 person, but the M48A2 is also fine at 8.3, for some line-up depth (and leopard 1 will still work at 8.3, especially with the apds).
yep, my 9.3 lineup is basically built around my begliet, i use t72 if its a downtier tho
FPS map design at its finest.
My 8.3 german lineup is built around Gepard. I have the rocket thing, M48A2 G A2 (apfsds m48), Leo 1, DF105, and Marder 1A3
Why are you even relying on its armour? It was never designed to withstand punishment. You should be playing like a light tank or a fast tank destroyer like the Hellcat.
Because half the time, maps are small urban maps and similar tanks have similar firepower and more armor (Centurion mk10 cough cough) and mobility isnt even useful in urban maps when by the time your gun stabalized, you are already dead
That is completely false. Mobility is always useful on urban maps, it allows you to better flank the enemy, and relocate quicker.
FPS: First Person Shooter. These aren’t FPS Maps.
Though your on the right on maps being crap.
They are maps where the you fight tanks at 100-200m. Often times you can disable a tank, then drive right next to it to shoot it in the sides.
Those are FPS maps to me, not maps for vehicle combat.
Not when fucking gaijin makes maps into 3 way COD maps, making it impossible to flank and turn it into urban hell
Any examples?
Mobility is still very useful on urban maps since you can get into places quicker than your opponents, while also being able to get out of a dangerous area quicker.
Advance to the Rhein. If you go to the flanking side between B and C, even if you are fast enough to almost get to B, you cant even defend yourself due to most tanks at the BR being able to engage you with a stabilizer. Lots of tanks can end you before you get to a position. And I’m not even gonna mention the amounts of uptiers with tanks with thermals, LRFs, APFSDS, cross map sniping you in maps such as Arctic Base
Genuinely one of the best maps in the entire game in my opinion. It has so many different paths to take compared to other city maps like Sun City or Sweden.
Flanking doesn’t mean you need to hug the edge of the map, it just means that you can get beside an enemy.
That’s just a common theme for any 7.7-8.3 tank, and it can be mostly blamed on BR compression.
Leopard 1 is not designed to fight the way you have to in the city maps we got.
You can make it work but it’s a bother.
No MBT is designed for that sort of combat of course but some do it better than others with the way gameplay mostly goes without combined arms warfare in War Thunder.
Leopard 1 is a “sniper” which can quickly reposition after hitting an advancing wave of tanks inferior in fire control systems.
After a few shots a Leopard 1 platoon would expect to be spotted while the enemy is closing in for precise shots. Therefore the Leopard 1 platoon would relocate to a different position. Ideally the former and the coming positions woild be prepared as well.
Mobile defence and all that.
On the average War Thunder map you would have riflemen using unguided anti tank weaponry irl at that time period.
Here we do indeed have a “Call of Duty Vehicles” situations at hand.
Br compression makes it hard to balance tanks such as Leopard 1.
Even so very fast or very slow vehicles need a very dedicated, carefully handled playstyle to succeed.
Which is what most other 8.0s will experience as well, Leopard I isn’t alone in that.
Same thing, this is not a Leopard I only problem.
I think it’s better for you to ask for BR decompression around 8.0, since Leopard I definitely isn’t a 7.7 BR vehicle in the current state of the game.
