Sounds good to me. Sim players are probably the more dedicated, despite their neglect, players, it would be unfair to cut them out of votes due to the longer game time.
Aoeilaeiepae? I don’t know. The guy almost exclusively plays top tier air arcade and the only two things required there are decompression and much larger maps
19.0/20.0 if the entire TT (from reserve to 14.3) is decompressed. But top tier itself (which most seem to fixate on) doesnt need all that much decompression
Necessary to win no. But can have a meaningful impact yes
I feel like this is a good place to plug a thread I made last update:
Im on the fence whether ARB should be longer, or left as a more “quick and dirty” gamemode, with RB EC added alongside. Giving players the choice of what they want to play
Overall. I agree. a very good thread. It is time old gamemodes that havent seen meaningful changes in years get updated. If nothing else. its dumb the gamemodes dont change from BR to BR
Yes I was thinking for decompression to propagate through the entire tree all the way to reserves
CC’s influencing things is always a factor, but imagine now misguided CC’s rather than trying to influence decisions of everyone, taking the choice away from the people in the matter.
Holy did you even read my posts. CCs would be chosen by the community and the community itself would play a large role in balancing.
There are two things I don’t like about this:
- Why not?
Especially when you want longer battles, it seems like there’s no reason not to.
- Even the thought of giving the European Canadian the chance to be an advisor for the game has me shuddering. No CC needs to be involved with this, especially Gaijin defenders like TEC.
Overall, I’ve been saying it since I started playing. We need new gamemodes. It’s as simple as that. Without them, 5th gens won’t come to the game. Why? Because 4.5 gens slinging R-37Ms, Meteors, PL-15s, Aim-260s, and Aim-174s as soon as they take off, (because the MAR of these missiles are well within the 80-100km that separate the airfields currently) will kill the game before we get there.
Prediction time:
At first, once this problem arises, the community will get mad like they always do, but with Gaijin not having any plans to fix this, they’ll put a bandaid on the problem and add an additional like 50km separation that will ultimately do nothing.
Oh man. Yall though the Aim-54 Phoenix spam was bad? Or the IRCCM meta? Realshatter? Any of the countless mistakes Gaijin has implemented? Nah. Enjoy getting dying to an Mach 5 R-37M 45 seconds after you takeoff that literally CANNOT be notched because the speed difference is so high that aspect doesn’t matter and it’ll stay in track mode.
Of course these planes and capabilities are going to be at 14.7 on release :)
Are there any good CCs?
I dont pay attention to them much, but watching them shut down APHE overhaul put me off ever trusting them for anything every again
Nope. There are good ones to watch for like content, but none even partly worthy of such a responsible title like advisor of the AirRB rework.
I don’t watch many but I would say Defyn, GeneralLee and Walvis as far as arb goes. The CC idea would need a lot of testing and thought if implemented.
Haven’t read everything yet, will do once back home.
Problem. Community chooses CC’s = who gets more “views/subbers” on their channels gets an auto win. It doesn’t matter if they have actual knowledge it terms of balance. I mean, there are might be someone who knows how to actually “fix” everything, but he’s views are 10 people and subbers are he’s close friend 2 guys.
Not just ARB but GRB as well. GRB is plagued by terrible map designs being too small for moderm MBTs or just being a 3 lane battlefield like mmo which is an issue. Aside from GRB. Heli PVE is probably in the worst state. Bugged for years, AI are too strong especially at lower tiers, helis being unable to compete against premium helis and fnf missiles, objectives bug out and stop spawning after an hour, AI can scale mountains at 85° but regular tanks in GRB cant (/s) or spawn underground/underwater, games are too long for minimal rewards, and maps are too large
Fair argument. I am not sure how to address this.
Understanding? Maybe, they work with the results of the devs - but just a few have the background data why certain results appear (= are they intended or not).
Imho CCs are mainly focused on their specific audience and tell them what they assume they want to hear. So if you are a fighter (PvP) player you watch Defyn, if you are a strike fighter / bomber (PvE) player you watch…mhm…
The problem with hiring consultants which have a conflict of interests is obvious.
What i miss in this whole debate is a reset of all the buffs and nerfs of flight models or weapon effectiveness which gaijin added open or hidden over the years. It makes zero sense to talk about balancing of aircraft if the aircraft itself was multiple times “adjusted” by gaijin just because they did not want to change the BR.
Best example is the Flakpanzer buff and nerf in the last days - it took just a few days to increase the BR whilst gaijin just refuses to look at their MG 151/20 nerf (SD fuse).
I place my bet that it will take Gaijin 1 year to come up with a pitiful roadmap - just like the one that granted us a small XP boost for 5 games a day if you reached top tier…
It costs nothing to try. Good luck!
I am against all unrealistic changes (unless technically impossible or similar of course) . We have the BR system for a reason. I would like those changes to be reverted ideally.
Now that’s just being an asshole. the least you can do is ensuring the user have bought something to the amount of X USD. timegating the purchase period or linking it to premium account is just asking to get stoned.
I’ve read everything now and still CC’s in the proposal seem like unnecessary middle men even if elected by the community.
On top of that they add a point of failure in communications if they prioritise their own opinions instead of the community’s opinion if they don’t align.
None of the mentioned topics need CC’s involved, and would be more streamlined with direct community input without adding extra fluff to the system.
huh, no, not really:
this is completely absurd : only the like of 0.01% never bought anything in the game
that rules is stupid, as you gives opportunity to people, with no real experience of the game (level 4 with any high tier premium vehicule), to give their thoughts → which often ends up with :
“shorter maps please”
“airspawn for everyone please”
“my XXX premium should be 2.0 BR lower”
that would be worse than anything else.
make it 500hours (20 in-game days)
100 hours is really too low (4 in-game days) many players could give it a shot to 3/4 accounts easily
count 150 games/month would be easier,…
stupid,… as votes are made over 1 or 2 business weeks, when done.
and anyone (even the worst players of WT), could still be up and say things that are similar to the 1st point i made,… another proof that you don’t know what the game needs ^^
as it stand from your proposition, it would be best to grant access to any vote to players with relative rating of 80%+ alongside 2000 battles minimum in the questionned gamemode.
such rating could be done thanks to similar system than Statshark, for exemple:
yours:
mine:
@themadseventeen one: (you’re used as exemple, no problem here)
@YuikoArashi-live : (you’re used as exemple, no problem here)
there is many players with many experience of the game, but it’s still a game where knowledge primes, it’s not like CS Go, or any BF/COD like user-friendly game.
