I mean, personally I think they should divide it by eras. Players can opt in to play an up tier from the previous era into the next one for a bonus in SL or whatever.
Yeah it would need some work to make sure stuff didn’t get invalidated entirely… like a more in depth gameplay loop that offered better bonuses and gameplay systems for teamwork/teamplay.
what “person” thinks that time period of service has literally anything to do with BR? If someone thinks this they need to stop smoking vapor off a spoon.

Right, This is now the 2nd thread Ive seen on this plane. I hard grinded it out over the last couple days to find out for myself.
I’ve played 2 games in it, completely stock so no zunis yet, gotta go to bed now so I guess tomorrow, but so far:
-Flight performance is very poor. Props will have no problem engaging and killing it. It takes forever to accelerate, loses energy fast, and struggles to get it back. Turning performance is workable, but you lose so much speed in a turn. I was able to dogfight an Me262 just. but I found that when props came after me I was stuck just kind of running away with very little ability to counter them. Though I was able to chase an Fw190 down. It also takes forever to slow down when landing lol, the airbrake doesnt do much. Also, no combat flaps.
-Only 120 rounds for its gun and a high RoF, your ammo lasts bugger all. Good damage on the shells though with intuitive ballistics so far.
-I’ve only got the stock 500lb bombs it came with, but yes the CCIP is a massive highlight.
Comparing this to the strikemaster at least, The Strikemaster runs rings around this in flight performance. So far I think the Strikemaster is a much more capable airframe as a Jet at this BR, its much more able to hold its own in a dogfight despite its piddly guns. Mine is completely stock so im sure some of the lack of power and acceleration will be improved on with upgrades.
It definitely feels like the CCIP is the entire identity of this aircraft. Without it I dont think It’d deserve to be above 6.7. there was another one in my game who was running Zunis and I could see that he was quite effective against ground targets, but the second an enemy plane spawned and chased him he got shot down immediately, as I imagine you’d have to dump the heavy rocket pods to have any sort of chance against another aircraft. Since I was running blank after dropping my bombs I had more of a chance.
Is 7.3 too low? Inconclusive with a stock aircraft without the weapons that make it strong unlocked.

He thinks the L/39 has to get within M163 range to deal with it LOL

True, when M163s just stand there while watching you turn around and point straight at them, it’s very easy to deal with them. This must be the kind of player saying it must go up by a full BR.

Actually that’s quite normal for spaa, they generally don’t leave the spawn zone and as such rarely actually move from the spot they spawned in on, and the few that do move forward with the team, well they’re dangerous so you tend to kill them first

Nah.
Driving into a terrain where there could be enemy tanks with a vehicle that mostly won’t be able to do much to enemy ground target while having to pay attention to enemy plane is a great idea!
This was in a city map. There were countless places within spawn to hide in, but that’s clearly too much to ask. Better make it 8.7 so they never have to move!
hence why you sit behind your friendlies, it is very dependent on the map (like this map where the spawn is close enough to the fight you can cover both sides at once but others the spawn is like a km away from the center of the map meaning youre not gonna do anything until after they killed your team members), hence why skilled players do this more often, because they understand when they should move up and they shouldnt.
Yeah its always the thing with SPAA. Spawn in and physically dont move. Just plink away at the sky like their brains are turned off. It makes them so easy to counter in a plane, or at least avoid.
The vast majority of my deaths to AA at these BRs is directly from SPAA players sitting in places I dont expect them, being pushed up with their team. very rarely do I die to SPAA players sitting in their spawn unless I am directly diving on them kind of planning to die.

It is not like You don’t have to hit M163 with zunis to kill it. Even if he tries to hide, one landing near him means death.
Its so stupidly good for cas, and then so poor against aircraft, it should go up but not thought of as unstoppable because any other aircraft can nuke it, mb326 is worse at cas in range, but is very capable in a2a
I tried to hide between buildings trying to kill an L39 but he just kept his distance and I couldn’t do squat. We didnt win the game though.
The only times I’ve really killed L39’s was in the Praga, even then I had to snipe and overlead. I got three in one match.
Moving with the team is such a hassle because I have to babysit their pushes too. Often times I watch my position crumble and have to go back. So now I’m split between looking for CAS, positioning again, and running from tanks.
I have to agree and disagree at the same time. I have completed the stockgrind in GRB with this thing and as amazing as it is at killing Tanks, any Plane is going to smack you in the L39. Is the L39 too strong? Yes. Does it need to go to 8.3? No, absolutely not. Push it to 7.7 and learn how to counter it. Maybe give it a higher SP cost, but dont put it higher than 7.7 in GRB. If the L39 faces missile SPAA it is dead. no counterplay, no matter how bad the missile, the L39 does not have any flight performance to get away or out manouver a missile.
Somewhere in this post was a comment on Eras, I very much like that Idea, WW2 and below, then you get cold war and then the modern stuff. Integrate it into ARB as well please, Fox3 Era, Fox1 Era and Gunfighters and WW2. We need this badly!
Best solution remains removing the Zunis. Without that long range punch, it becomes far more manageable to deal with via SPAA, so you aren’t forced to spawn in a plane to deal with one.
CCIP on bombs with this flight model should still be pretty potent, but since it’ll be forced to get much closer and perform more drastic manuevers, it’ll be a lot easier to hit.
And you’ll still be able to easily counter clueless SPAA players by lobbing bombs at them from beyond their effective range, however switched on SPAA players will be able to see the drop coming and move. Unlike with Zunis, which give very little reaction time, even with 1+ km shots.

That’s not a solution at all
Then don’t use it as a dogfighter
That or increase their SP cost, they are ridiculously cheap currently.
I also don’t think an up tier to 7.7 would kill it, I have been grinding the event with it and the 7.7 RCV and it’s fine, the thing that would kill it would be facing the stealth belt VT ammo SPAGGs that it would see from 8.0.
Honestly both would be fine (7.7 and increased zuni SP cost) but as always compression is also a major issue with these kinds of vehicles.
It’s a better solution than just uptiering it. It’ll either get to keep sniping helpless, non-RADAR guided SPAAs from 1.5-2km out (While dying to any CAP plane that spawns) or it’ll get completely curbstomped by 35mm SPAAs (While still getting destroyed by CAS planes).
It’s too much firepower on too weak a platform, resulting in a strictly binary power structure that the BR system is just not set up to deal with. For reference, the next lowest BR’d plane to have both CCIP and Zunis are the Harriers at 9.7. Outside of the few Bullpup vehicles around 8.7, there are no other planes that can hit a target, accurately, from that kinda range, and even the Bullpups require post launch guidance and give the target longer to react.
Remove the Zunis, and it becomes a far more easily balanced vehicle.
