KV-7 Battle rating

I think 4.0 for KV-7 is a bit high, since it got no turret, armor is not effective against same and higher br enemy tanks. 3.7 would be a good br, since KV-1 is there and it got a turret but worse gun, so it would balance out. What yo guys think?

First of all, Russian low ranks have many BR problems (scroll down to see some). The KV-7 (U-13) will be fine at the right hands, but avarage to lower skilled players might struggle to play it properly. At the current state of thing, 3.7-4.3 BRs are the kingdom of constant uptiers, so it doesn’t really matter - both 3.7 and 4.0 vehicles are anyway being thrown into 4.7 matches. When the BR problems will be fixed, and a 3.7 lineup will be found for Russia, it would make sense to take the KV-7 down in BR.

Here are some examples of bad BR decisions Made for the low-mid tier area in the USSR tech-tree:
The T-50 got heavily nerfed by late, got it’s armor nerfed from 40 to 37 mm and it’s top speed from 64 kph to 52 - yet it stayed at 2.7. The T-34 (1941) got up to 4.0 (the T-34E STZ is at the same BR while basically being the same vehicle but with much better armor) only to help the underperforming Germany players. The SU-85 is at 4.3 while being just as powerful as the 4.0 StuG III Ausf. G. The Yak-9K got up in ground RB from 4.0 to 4.3, where it has no lineup to work with (just like the ASU-57), despite the fact that people don’t need this change at all - they usually just play the 9K at, like, 6.7. Yag-10 (29-K) is at 3.3, ZiS-12 (94-KM) at 3.0 and so.
Even at mid tier: IS-2 (1944) is the same BR as the Tiger II (H), which has better armor and gun, and same mobilty. The T-44 is at 6.7 while being a slightly more mobile Panther with worse turret armor, better hull armor and a worse gun. The VK.3002 (M) is lower in BR than the T-34-85s, while being as mobile, having better armor and a better gun. The Jagdpanther is almost at the same BR as the SU-100. The Nashorn and the SU-100P are pretty similar yet the first is at 5.3 and the second - at 6.3. The IS-3 and BTR-80A are at 7.3 for no reason, they are both underperforming and have no lineup.

Lol, your comment is just coping.
And skill issue on your part.
Su-85 same as StuG III G? Nah?
And maybe just maybe the Yak 9K went up because it got new 45mm ammo, that is quite shredding, on a single engline fighter?
“Only to help the underperfoming Germany” just lol.

Why so defensive?

He’s right on the StuG =/= Su-85 though. They have similar firepower and mobility but the Su has much better armour.

I have to agree on the original post that it’s just stupid that the standard T-34-76 got moved up to the same br as the uparmoured versions. And I gotta agree with the IS-2 being 6.7 as well as they literally had to give it ammo it never used to stay effective.

For Russia not having a 7.3 line up that is just a flat out lie. They have one of the best damn 7.3 line ups there is

Its nearly the same armor as the Kv-1 at 4.3, with even better firepower. It should be comfortable there.

StuG III Ausf. G has better armor, similar mobility and worse gun than the regular 4.3 SU-85. Yak-9K was fine at 4.0 even with APHE. Germany has the Hs-129 with the most busted cannon ever and with a specialized sight as well, all at 2.3 where it can frontally pen anything.
Skill issue? I am a level 100 content creator, and an advisor at the Israeli tank design administration (MANTAK). Please be more polite next time.

Lol, as if i care for your job. This is a video game.
Worse gun? Ok, this really is skill issue.
The difference between the Hs 129 B and Yak 9K is, that one is a slow twin engine Ground attacker and the other one a single engine fighter. You cant compare the planes.

Lol, how funny, the Su85 has better armor (the Stug easily dies head-on from a Sherman/T-34) and an excellent gun with a BR-365 shell

T-34 are 4.0 because are propaganda on tracks and they are blatanlty op in 3.7.

Wtf?? SU-85 have better protection and fire power.

Yes, after receive lower plate buff.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Really this is just a nosense after nosense.

This post is how tell you are ultra biased soviet fanboy without tell you are a ultra biased soviet fanboy.

IS-3, BTR-80A and what?

ZSU-23-4M2, which whilst lacking in the anti-tank role, happens to be heavily undertiered and very effective at clearing the skies.

And of course, many Russian vehicles are easily uptierable, the T-44-100 and ZSU-57-2 to name a couple.

Also the Obj 268 and SU-122-54. Both pretty well armoured with very good guns

I call your BS.

Completely different and only thing they have common, is awesome gun what can deal with any threats they face. There is more in common in waffenträger and su100P , and still 100P got a lot better mobility, and both are just fine on br’s where they are.

As well as armor that it never had

Actually, you have it reversed:

I’d rather be sitting behind something of 82 to 85 mm thickness rather than something that is almost half as thick (45 mm). Or, in other words, if the Stug III G is dying so easily, then that obviously points to a problem in the code with this illegitimate mickey mouse game:

Well, there are two issues. First of all, the 76mm can penetrate 80mm quite easily, which in reality it wouldn’t be able to do.
Secondly, the StuG III Gs gun shield is now only 50mm. So even a BT-5 can take it out with the 45mm gun.

Spoiler

The sloped 30mm plates (68°) have an effective armor of 80mm. Most rounds, which barely penetrate 90-100mm, would ricochet from the armor. The spalling might wound the gunner, but that isn’t certain, since most of it would be cought by the the superstructure armor in front of him or get redirected into the floor of the vehicle.

He got some fair points tbh. The T-44 85 mm is a sad tank. The gun is very underwhelming at 6.7.
The suspension and resulting gun bounce is just terrible and negates a lot of the mobility advantages of that tank.

The IS-2 series reload time is almost 3x longer than the Tiger II with similar pen, but the 122 mm shells got more filler that no one with halfway decent aim really needs. I’d take the 88 mm gun in any case.

Where do I find the KV 7? I don’t see it on the tree nor do I see it as a premium…

I think it’s fine. The main issue is Germany’s undetiered BS, namely VK 3002, Pz.IV, and Jagdpanzer.IV/Hetzer.

It was from the ended that just ended.
