Meanwhile Japan receives a fictional F-16 when their prospects for top tier aircraft over the next few years are far more positive than the UK’s. They could have given us a New Zealand F-16 if they actually cared about adding a competitive fighter to the UK lineup. You know, like how they gave Germany a British made Swiss multirole fighter “to fill in a gap”. They could even copy-paste the Gripen they are giving to Sweden and give that to the UK.

Yeah… just look at hte current state of what we’ve got. The only thing in the British TT at high tier that i’d tentatively consider as finished is the Gr7, but I can name several things wrong with it fairly easily, including several missing features. But alas, thats the best we can hope for these days
FA2 with the right AAMs might be competitive for 5 minutes, but the moment we see 12.7s, it would be nearing DOA. No way it would truly survive long in ARB and would rarely win a WVR fight. SB it would be quite good, but would have to be played defensively
But i’d take a low performance 12.3 to fight 12.7s/13s over a low performance 11.3 vs 12.7s/13s so there is that
FA2s only truly redeeming quality, is its radar, it would be the best in game by far till we saw late 12.7s maybe 13s

i mean it takes a major nation to get something to then retroactively add it to british stuff example the Gr7 MAWS and if the rumours are to be believed the EW stuff for aircraft. you know the 2 things the harrier gr7 were built around
Trust me - MAWS and EWAR will be added to the game long before we see them added retrospectively to the GR.7 or Tornado GR.1.
watch them add it to some US Jet and then wait 3 Majors and 15 Reports to get it on other aircraft
The fact we got Aim-9Ms on the Gr7 AND no BR increase were both extremely shocking to me
