ARH = Active Radar Homing, a catch all term for Fox 3
AMRAAM = Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile, a specific model of ARH that is designed to destroy fighters.
ASRAAM = Completely different missile. It’s a long range british IR missile, that is used today

Second one probably means more advanced cockpit HUDs probably only for F-16 but maybe for other jets too. Tornado F3 would be slightly better in SB if it actually had a finsihed cockpit HUD (Sea Harrier FRS1 too)

For reference this is how effective AMRAAM is, from the Sea Harrier FA.2 tests it was given a 18.5km “No Escape” range with a max range of 74km

Ok sorry i just dont think its gonna live up to the hype everyone gives it, especially when people keep saying its gonna completely eliminate all dogfighting and maneuvering, Tornado CSP and F4F ice will still be Doa with them
I personally dont think that would be too OP. Tornado Gr4 with ASRAAM would also be a very good addition, But ASRAAM have already been denied
Spading the whole TT for british air and just found out the Jaguar Gr.1 comes stock with no bombs, no flares, no A2A missiles.

That I agree on. There is a slither of hope. having ARH means you can notch earlier. Might also be better than the Skytrash (if nothing else, we might actually see the bug fixes for Aim-120 actually get actioned, SkyTrash has several outstanding since they were added to the FGR2 like 2 years ago)
But AMRAAM opens the door for FA2. and that “might” and i do emphasise MIGHT, be a fun underdog jet. If nothing else, it has a better radar
It won’t eliminate dogfighting and will even encourage maneuvering even more for notching, but it’s still an incredible missile.
F4F and Tornado CSP will be DOA for sure. We need a stopgap which is why i’m suggesting Cf-18

Perhaps they are remaking/remastering Top Tier HUDs and missile interfaces?
Another major issue with Adding amraams is that they are designed for up to 100km or above
Most maps are barely 50km wide so we are gonna see people take off and fire all their amraams at each other, not a fun gameplay by the sounds of it
