I agree, a lot of these helicopters end up overlapping a lot in effectiveness and BR, which means that there’s only a few meta helicopters actually worth putting in your lineups. As cool as the new Blackhawk is, I really wonder if it will be worth bringing over say an Apache
Dunno about their relative specs, but if any of those could provide an 8.x or 10.0/10.3 BR heli they would be welcome additions
Edit: Damn the OH-1 looks sleek af, too bad it only has air to air weapons
If my memory is ok, the black hawk dlp could carried 16 hellfire and at 11.3, on dev stream. It’s depend if the hellfire is hellfire b or k. But I believe viper is a better choice for 11.3 since it has 2 aim9m
sadly not, the HSS-2s and SH-60s are naval choppers mainly carrying torps and such. sh-60k for japan can use 2-4 hellfires but that’s it. i honestly expect these to only be flyable units on modern ships similar to float planes in naval. Oh-1 just has IR missiles which could be interesting but nothing crazy.
Ah, so the same problem that the UK helis are facing
I don’t understand what makes the AH-64E equal to, or better than the Ka-52. Slightly better flight performance?
If it’s an ordinance argument, that goes both ways…
What they need is some new mechanic that makes them worth while. Imagine if you could land the blackhawk and resupply, at least a little bit, nearby teammates
Both gazelle are quite useless. First one gets only 2 hot2, the second one get 2 hot2 and 2 mistral. But since there is a mistral launcher on the ground. I dont think I need that.
I dont know much, but I believe its the better weapons, targetting systems and defensive systems.
which differences would the E variant bring, longbows arent realy balanced for the game
For the ah-64e
I believe ah.mk1 for British is based on e variant
We can use that as a standard
yeah but, its only engine upgrade thats relevant for the game, maybe better radar but all that realy doesnt improve the in game performance in areas it matters
Spoiler
“The AgustaWestland Apache is a licence-built version of the Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopter for the British Army Air Corps. The first eight helicopters were built by Boeing; the remaining 59 were assembled by Westland Helicopters (later AgustaWestland) at Yeovil, Somerset in England from Boeing-supplied kits. Changes from the AH-64D include Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322 engines, a new electronic defensive aids suite and a folding blade mechanism allowing the British version to operate from ships. The helicopter was initially designated WAH-64 by Westland Helicopters and was later given the designation Apache AH Mk 1 (also written as “Apache AH1”) by the Ministry of Defence.”
Ah.mk1 combine the missile warning system on itself so it do not need to carry maw on the wing tip, which we can fit with ata stinger.
AH-64E
By the sounds of it, its mostly engine and sensor upgrades. But Id imagine it would be able to carry better AGMs in game
I get you, but to a certain degree that’s just how progression works ingame
While I can see them foldering helis that are on the brink of being duplicates I cannot see them foldering the only 2 rank 6 helis that a nation has, as that would make other nations cry about having to grind so much more
yeah xD but there are none, the next upgrade is the hellfire longbow which is to strong
For now, its a good news enough if they decided to fold the heli. I dont dream too much
Hey, at least we aren’t playing USSR and have to grind through 6-7 helis to get to the top variant
Looks like AGM-114R Hellfire II though not longbow.
Though interestingly, according to this:
AGM-114 Hellfire - Wikipedia (not the best site I know)
AGM-114Ks that we have on the Ah1 in game, should have a range 11km, not their current 8… Interesting.
But we could also see other systems, like Sidewinder instead of just Starstreaks and maybe even AGM-122 Sidearms.
But for the most part it would just be a straight airframe upgrade over the current aircraft.
