If a subtree was to turn into a full tree at one point they would take that nations vehicles and move them to the old nations premium/event tree and put them in that full tree
That’s how they did it with italian, french, israeli and swedish vehicles that existed before they had their own trees
That’s true. So yeah, they could do either. If they are worried about “Geo-Politics” (though again, Taiwan and China cough cough) then adding 1 or 2 vehicles that Japan is short on and then going into a full Sub tree might still be a reasonable move. But yeah, I’ve always reckoned that was the smartest place to put their vehicles for now.
It’s a bit annoying that people can’t put politics aside in games when it comes to things like that.
Japan could really use a sub-tree in both their ground and aerial trees, same goes for israel, but both nations have these geo-politics problem going on
Though at least for Japan/Korea, I think its beginning to cool off a bit and improve. So thats something at least. But yeah. I think they need to be sensitive to it (Ukrainian stuff in the “Soviet/Russia” tree would be a recipe for disaster. But I think they could do with biting the bullet in this instance and just go for it
J-10 I think is coming before J-11 by the way. That was the point I was going to make before I derailed myself talking about flankers @Morvran
Its the F-16 equivalent right? Yeah, does just make sense and is probably a reasonable “early” multi-role jet for China with plenty of upgrade variants based upon a quick look at Wiki
Dunno, the J-10 looks quite a bit more capable than the J-11
Edit: nevermind just found out about the thrust to weight ratio of the J-11 and Su-27 almost rivaling that of the Eurofighter
I’m thinking the teaser will be next Thursday, with this week just being the warmup, if you will, with only one or maybe two devblogs of substantial things.
J-10 is agile, it’s basically what happened when a Finback made love to a secret Israeli love child, scorned by her American father. It’s a good jet. Should be in soon hopefully.
It’s crazy to me that an aircraft with specs like that would enter service as late as 2005
The AIDC F-CK 1 would probably also be a good fit right now, don’t you think?
Typhoon should meet Mig-29s & F-16s, otherwise it’d just be same-make matches which is boring.
They might be different, but they’re not that different.
Takes time, what’s crazier is how FAR China has come since 2005.
From what I understand the J-10 started out in life as an Israeli aircraft (IAI Lavi - Wikipedia) that they were developing before being pressured into buying the F-16 or something like that. Then they sold the plans to china who finished the plans. But its only in more recent years that China has “caught” up with its Domestic production. A lot of their stuff seems to be knock-offs of Soviet stuff they’ve bought
Oh yeah, considering they developed the J-10 for the most part on their own that sure is a leap
Why did they name the plane this way?
It didn’t even occur to me that the designation almost says fuck lmao
I don’t have a clue why they would call it that way
Fighter - Ching Kuo - 1 would be my guess, but you’d think they would realise what the abbreviation looks like
The J-16 has nothing to do with the Su-35. The J-11BG is equivalent to the Su-35. They are both air superiority aircraft. The J-16 is multi-purpose and has a similar positioning to the F-15EX.
I implore you to learn the definition of the word ‘equivalent’.
Or maybe it is now introducing the F-18 instead of the Grippen? I’m not a Grippen fan. Personally, I would prefer the F-18 for its better ground attack capabilities. Also, the F-18 would be a better plane because they could add it to more countries.
