Yeah, give me a hope that they plan a new Sub tree for all of these nations at some point down the line. South Korea for Japan being the most obvious guess, and Maybe Pakistan for China would be the most logical. For Israel, I’m not entirely sure tbh.
lol Typhoon is not that much more powerful.
Yeah that’s is probably part of the big holdup is that most multirole Chinese plans that can be added are Fox 3 capable, but then again so was the F-16C and SMT, but that didn’t stop gajjin.
In terms of Chinas air too ground missles, I’ve spent quite a bit of time trying too track down the options, and it’s been difficult simply because I can only read English, but they have a few obvious options that should be available for most future aircraft.
There are three options:
The C-704KD with IR TV guidance
The CM-802AKG with long range TV guidance that has data link and allows for mid course change
And the KD-88AKG which is similar and also has an optical seeker
Unfortuantely, those 2 nations are the exception and not the rule. For the other 8, we have to settle for a major lag in capabilities.
Interesting additions for sure.
Whenever (X)F-2 is mentioned, there is usually a prophecy that AESA radar will ruin the meta.
Spoiler
…and I don’t agree with that. Because I’ve never seen anyone argue that this vehicle needs to go up to 12.0 despite this stuff having ‘luxurious’ radar.
Well, that BR would be if we didnt have compressed af trees currently, the Typhoon shouldnt meet F-16s, MiG-29s and alike, dont you think?
Not too mention the fact that I think there is a radar option that isnt AESA for it. Besides we are definetly entering that era and its going to have to happen eventually. Sea Harrier FA2 is my guess for this year, and the Blue Vixen is akin to the APG-73 radar and would go on to be developed into the radar found in early EFTs ( I think) we are simply entering an era of more advanced radars.
The important bit is how that radar is used and what weapons it has available
I do feel that if the Gripen is added as well as the F/A-18 next patch then they could fill those planes into a number of tech trees (at least the hornet).
The Uk could get the Canadian CF-18 or Australian F-18, Sweden could also get Finish F-18… though if they add the hornet and Eagle then Japan could get the F-15J so maybe add the 18 and 15 as they could fill in a lot of countries top tier. Though this does mean that you will have F-15 fighting F-15 and F-18s fighting F-18s.
And there is no need to mention that Gripen’s PS-05/A radar was developed based on the Blue Vixen radar!
Did not know that, thats good to know! Ta!
But yeah, next few aircraft are probably not all that far off in terms of A2A performance (in context to radar) . at least in WT context
Well, it wont ruin the meta, it will make the current meta even worse by leaving even less room for error and limiting counterplay even further. Especially when paired with AMRAAMs
In other words, unless chaff gets buffed to the point where its unrealistic or we get new kinds of countermeasures the game will turn into a test of who can fly the closest to the ground
For a game about planes that seems a bit counterintuitive to me, but maybe we’ll see maps with actual cover when we get to that point
So what do you guys reckon the chances are for a teaser this Thursday already followed by a sev server?
I think the last Oct/Nov patch was quite short notice.
My bets are on the week after that, if we even get a teaser for this update
Last octobers “Meet the update” was on the 26th with a regular ol trailer
usually except for china
That is true…
If a subtree was to turn into a full tree at one point they would take that nations vehicles and move them to the old nations premium/event tree and put them in that full tree
That’s how they did it with italian, french, israeli and swedish vehicles that existed before they had their own trees
That’s true. So yeah, they could do either. If they are worried about “Geo-Politics” (though again, Taiwan and China cough cough) then adding 1 or 2 vehicles that Japan is short on and then going into a full Sub tree might still be a reasonable move. But yeah, I’ve always reckoned that was the smartest place to put their vehicles for now.
It’s a bit annoying that people can’t put politics aside in games when it comes to things like that.
Japan could really use a sub-tree in both their ground and aerial trees, same goes for israel, but both nations have these geo-politics problem going on
Though at least for Japan/Korea, I think its beginning to cool off a bit and improve. So thats something at least. But yeah. I think they need to be sensitive to it (Ukrainian stuff in the “Soviet/Russia” tree would be a recipe for disaster. But I think they could do with biting the bullet in this instance and just go for it
J-10 I think is coming before J-11 by the way. That was the point I was going to make before I derailed myself talking about flankers @Morvran
