Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

I think with 9Ls only, could ocme as early as Dec. but never expected it would. There was the hammer blow from smin which could be interpreted as, not anytime soon. Maybe not even in 2024. Which then leaves Germany and Britain really really screwed.

F4F Ice for Germany and Sea Harrier FA2 for Britain has always been my assumption for this year. Because, Gen 3 with AMRAAM just makes sense. But after that?

Well, Britain you can slap Commonwealth jets or niche trainers like the Gripen, but I feel is just messy. More Ground attackers? Maybe but would need Brimstone to be worth while additions. And thats potentially problmatic. After that, only really Typhoon.

Germany though? Nothing, to be honest. Except IRIS-T armed Tornado IDS.

So Very very early Typhoon, Q2-3 next year was my guess and my hope and that is pushing it in terms of maintaining top tier viability for Britian and Germany and Italy. Bare in mind, if this year is any indicator. We;ll be on late F-15s and Su-30s. I.e Full Typhoon rivals by that point.

Morvan, the UK copium is ridiculous, the Tornado would have been worse then than it is now.

Having 9Ls and STs is what allows it to do so well at its current BR, the Tornado FM was shit irl and is just as bad in game. Its a flying brick with swing wings and none of the F-14s fuselage lift.

A later Tornado with AMRAAM and AIM-9M is inevitable, and the EFT will come eventually, but as I have said before the UK is not just a minor nation in the later 20th century they are also well behind their competitors. EFT will be ok, but you should be careful to hype yourself up too much.

I think pre-production Typhoon (and without nerfed loadouts) will fit nicely once early SU-27 and F-15 arrive, with production variants arriving along with later SU-27s, F-15/18s and Rafales, and the latest variants arriving along with F-22s and SU-57s.

IT would still have been better than the FGR2 with a far better radar.

Also. I love the idea that Britain “sucks” and therefore should suffer in game but Typhoon and ASRAAM being denied because they are too OP and no other nation can match their performance.

Also gotta love how we are “minor nation” despite the fact that most american tech is based upon British research and the entire US mitliary industry is propped up by BAE systems at this point. But each to their own. Either way. No reason to smash minor nations into the ground because “MERICA”

And I think Su-27 and F-15s along with Gripen will be the Decemeber update. That is where the confusion from Smins statement has come from (and thus this debate) because with those in place. Is the typhoon really that extreme of an addition?

Su-27 and F-15 are purpose built Air Supremacy platforms, with the range, weapons and APG-63 to match (N001 being a massive disapointment), The EFT and Rafale are analogous to how the F-16C compares to the F-16ADF, both are good planes, but the 16C holds an edge in almost all practical engagements.

That’s what I imagined too, indeed! December update.

I figured out we would be getting AIM-120 and stronger missiles in November, along with BR decompression, and then F-15, SU-27 and pre-production Eurofighter on December- although maybe Gaijin is starting to slow down the pacing of the Top Tier additions, in which case it may take a major update more for this to happen.

Huh!? I think I am misunderstanding, but… are you suggesting that F-16C holds an edge in air-to-air performance against Eurofighter and Rafale?

We won’t be getting AMRAAMs this year unless they add stuff like the F-15J and platforms to carry AIM-120Cs or even newer as some nations never fielded weaker AMRAAMs

You have no way of knowing that.

Gaijin stated that AMRAAMs and BVRAAMs will only be implemented when all ingame nations have proper platforms to carry them

About my timeline too.

SHAR FA2, ICE, AV-8B, etc with ARH this coming update

Wider roll out of ARH and new top tier aircraft like F-15, Su-27, Gripen, etc maybe all with ARH, depends. December.

EF Typhoon March or June?

Would not be insane timeline. If they really really want to be cautious, September, but by that point, A few nations would be suffering pretty hard again, maybe nearing a full BR behind the leaders.

And you have no way of knowing it.

Knowing what? That we most likely won’t be seeing AMRAAM platforms for every nation within 2 months from now?

If that 's the sole holdback at this point then so be it, but I don’t think these things exist in a vacuum - we’re already closing the gap on it 's weaponry and flight performance.

This update 's devblogs should make things a little clearer, but it seems like we might see platforms which hold the advantage in one or another aspect( maybe still short of the radar ?) sometime in the next few weeks - that might help us define what " comparable " is intended to mean from GJN 's perspective. Sort of like the ongoing Gripen C=confirmed-Eurofighter DA=denied discussion.

You said that they won’t come, that it’s a certainty. That is what you have no way of knowing.

no, the EFT and Rafale will be better than a mid 80s 15/27 in almost all ways, especially ground attack/SEA/DEAD

Why?

All-aspect IR missiles were added in drips and drabs and then a top tier aircraft, the Harrier Gr7 was added in Oct last year ahead of F-16s being added to all nations in December. AMRAAM to most if not all nations entirely possibe, Only nation that doesnt have in game right now, an aircraft that can carry Fox 3 is Japan. XF-2 or F-15 both easily could come in December would fix that

Which is what I believe will hapen next

Early Typhoon had no ground attack capabilites, that was Mid Tranche 2 upgrade. At most maybe a few cluster bombs, but thats just going by the Typhoon thread. Probably no A2G for early Typhoons, would be the Third Typhoon we got in game that would be Mutlirole.
