Oh, I just re-read and understood your comment after the clarification!
lemme put this into mind people compare the F2 to the Typhoon for some unknown reason look
F2 equipment, weaponry and technology:
- AESA radar (first generations)
- AAM-3, AAM-4, AAM-5(AAM-5 is known to be almost as good as IRIS-T but still not as good)
- Ground attack weaponry its the same one as the F16’s at best since japan dosent really produce much ground attack weaponry
- Technology better than any 4th gen jet
Eurofighter Typhoon:
- IRIS-T, Meteor, AIM-120 AMRAAM
- Ground attack weaponry such as. GBU-54, GBU-48, Taurus KEPD 350, Brimstone II
- the radar used by the eurofighter its the Mk1 CAPTOR-E AESA wich its a really new radar
- much better manouverability due to the control surfaces the avionics and the same control system as the gripen
Now saying all this yall should get a clear idea of what this is capable of and NO its not ready for game it would stomp every SPAA, Jets, or anything in general and im not even listing all of its features
Well, it’s either gaijin starting to add more and more fantasy loadouts due to nations like france not fielding early AMRAAMs or waiting until all nations have planes capable of carrying later AMRAAMs
Wrong, Could be equipped with Aim -9L or Aim-9M. Does not need to be Gen 5 IR. AMRAAM yes, but any version and most others would have it
Wrong, looking at prototype and wasnt till Tranch 2 block 15 that some of that was added. First 2 Typhoons in game would have no A2G. They would be pure A2A
Based upon Blue Vixen radar likely coming with the Sea Harrier FA2 this update or December. Probably about on par to Gripen C or F-15 radar from my understanding, it really wouldnt be as giant a step up as it would seem. Also not an AESA radar.
Would be a little quicker, and would be more manueverable, but never going to be perfectly balanced in game. Tornado F3 vs any other jet in game isnt exactly much of a concern for Gaijin. So you wont win in a turn fight vs Typhoon. Not exactly a new concept for different playstyles. Been in the game since Spitfire days
Yea comparable is a big asterisk because not all nations are equal even among contemporaries.
and even so its still an insane piece of weapon wich even when limited would still stomp every plane in game and funny enough it was designed for iris-t integration at least for the DA1
Early Typhoons didn’t have AESA radars, the CAPTOR-M is more in line with the Gripens radar, not that a worse radar would make the Typhoon fine tho
Agreed, it would be an actually competitve jet for minor nations for a change AND certainly would force other nations to have a challenge. In aprt why people are probably against it.
But there has to come a point where everyone else has equivalent. At that point? I think that would be Q2-3 next year. Any later than that and we’ll be Sea Harrier FA2 vs F22s and Su-57 before we even got early Typhoons
yeah but i dont quite remember what were the first versions of the eurofighter equipped with instead of CAPTOR-M since CAPTOR-M was equipped for last 3 versions if im not wrong
ECR-90C
i will say that a good option would be to have a massive update adding them all in 1 so you dont have to deal 1 update having an F 15 against an SU 57
Nah, the CAPTOR-M is the early one, the CAESAR (later CAPTOR-E) is the AESA radar
and that is PRECISELY what i think they need to do. Late F-15s and Su-27/30s, Gripen E, Rafale, J-16?, F2, etc. and you would create one hell of an update, Then Typhoon can just be slid into that as well. Jump all nations ahead equally, balance sorted
Always remember that weapon loadouts are the least of concerns- they are one of the primary balancing factors, and a plane being capable of carrying a powerful weapon is not a guarantee that it will be equipped with it upon arrival, so that factor is off the table when considering potential new additions.
uuh dude CAPTOR-M is the latest one offered by HENSOLD
It’d be a J-11, not a J-16.
F-2 early will probably be added before Typhoon and hopefully as the first AESA capable aircraft in game, J/APG-1 (first gen) won’t be insanely powerful tho at least compared to CAPTOR. I can see late F-2s added with Typhoons with J/APG-2 AESA radar from 2012, but even then there is also the late XF-2A which brings a even more powerful radar the F-X AESA radar specifically meant for tracking stealthy aircraft this is from 2019 and definitely not coming anytime soon I expect this near the very end of gen 4.
I dont really know my chinese aircraft, whatever the Su-27 photocopy is
Agreed! Maybe it will take a couple more of major updates, though.
We are advancing at an alarming rate- we reached present day in Ground and we are on the 90s in air… at this rate, we may be running out of potential additions within two years! And War Thunder survives through the addition of new content every 3 months… so it is likely that they will be starting to slow down the pace at which they move forward and may begin filling more gaps and adding more sudegrades before taking as big steps as they have been taking lately.
The J-11 is the equivalent to the Su-27/30, the J-15 is to the Su-33, and the J-16 is to the Su-35.
