UK has never been in “Big”, it’s kinda on the border between “Big 3” and “Minor” nations. While Germany is still a part of “Big 3” just because of the amount of playerbase it has.

That might be inline w/ why they stopgapped the Mitsubishi F-2, something similar sees to be going on w/ that. The comparison Smin made earlier abt the F-104S ASA, which was constantly asked for and denied until it 's historical AIM-9L minimum armament was considered balanced, seems apt.
The ASA to F-16 ADF experience also might be a guidestick to how those armaments might be introduced: first on airframes below the inherent performance level of the existing toptier, then expanding into aircraft which have those weapons by default along w/ much-improved performance in other aspects. The J-8F being slated to receive it 's PL-12 's at the incoming introduction of MR-ARH weapons ties into that, probably.

Yeah, though that would mean no Typhoon for maybe as much as 2 years. Im currently expecting ASRAAM for the Tornado Gr4 sometime end of next year.

Yeah, FGR2 for 3 years comes to mind. But that would be none the less, be completely insane. They can bury Britain, but I just dont think theyd get away with Burying Germany and italy too for that long and everytime they added later and later jets, teh argument would get worse and worse.

I don’t know why people thought eurofighter would come before the end of the year. Probably summer of next year at the soonest.

Considering the Italians got stuck with nothing but 104s for like 4 years, and German air being one of the most neglected trees at top tier consistently, I’d be prepared to be screwed. That’s if we even get a functional eurofighter as well. If snail decides to gimp it in one way or another, there’s nothing we as players can do because everything is classified.
