If by super nerfed, it’s just carrying 9Ls/7Ms and APG-68, I’ll take it. Even just 9Ls (or AAM-3s) with no radar. It’ll basically play just like the F-16AJ, I’d imagine, flight performance wise though a lil slower.
Surely we’ll get F-15C in the same update so that’s not a concern I think.
Honestly I think it’s more Gaijin having to model AESA at all than its supposed strength. It’s a new radar mechanic and it seems cost prohibitive to model it early just for one aircraft. Though they don’t really have to model it accurate initially either. They can just have it show up and then model it right when other aircraft also get it. We constantly get updates to existing stuff all the time so it’s not out of the ordinary, but I wouldn’t expect it to be Gaijin’s first option.
The thing is they will add these sub-versions eventually because if we went straight to the latest F-15 people would get bored of the game. Gaijin most likely will be adding some less important sub-variants later but as of now I see no reason why wouldn’t they add a FOX-1 only F-15A/C for example. Like we already have the F-14A and B so what’s stopping us?
true, but the usual scenario will probably look as follow :
The plane with fox 1 may shoot first. If the engagement takes place over long distances, the fox 3 equipped aircraft can continue to head on, wait a bit to fire its ARH, and then just turn back. Fox 1 becomes spoofed, because notching, and the fox 1 carrier now has to deal with an ARH, which means the fox 3 carrier can now safely point nose on and reengage.
This ~10km distance where the ARH missile can track by itself is a range bonus for the plane carrying fox 3, because it can keep that distance as a “buffer” by turning cold
My fear is they will copy paste an F-16 flight model for it and the only differences will be in the model and engine thrust.
They won’t take into account the increased wing area and how that effects flight performance.
So I foresee it being a fat F-16 with none of the benefits
Prehaps, but I still see a huge gap between anythign with ARH and those still with SARH. Same gap as those with all-aspect IR and those without. F-15C would be a good jet, but in the same way the Tornado F3 is a “Good jet”
To be honest though, at this point, with Typhoon off the table and all other options. Questionable. Our only real hope is some form of AAM advantage.
@Smin1080p if I may ask, can you share anything about adding more “variety” into the game?
By that I mean more variants of gen 2/3 aircraft into the folders that were put into the game.
More F-4s, MiG-23s, A-4s and even things like MiG-17F would be great to have…
Yep, and we aren’t even asking for a full blooded Typhoon, thats what is crazy. I would happily accept any handicap at thsi point, just not to be left in Gen 3s for the next year+
Well if the copy the F-16AJ’s current flight performance it’d be the best dogfighter yet. Especially since the F-16A’s might be due for a nerf there, which would make the XF-2A the best bar none.
Which is funny since you could technically replace the F-16AJ with the XF-2A and push the it to 12.7 and it’d probably be fine.
They pull a new Soviet or US jet out of their… pockets… every few months. Even if they started now, it would be ready by Q2 next year (which whislt I was hoping for this year, because you know, its needed, was when I was expecting it anyway becasue Britain is not allowed a top tier jet) , with effort. But honestly I suspect htey have already strarted it now. They’ve not got a lot else to work on for Germany, Italy Or Britain at this point.
All other aircraft for those 3 nations are just modified version of pre-existing airframes ,Minimal dev work required to implement. Unless they add lower tier aircraft like Alpha jet and Hawk.
Welcome to the 12.0 BR range.
12.3 jets are inbound.
And next year 13.X jets.
Also dev work is equal for F-16C as it is F-16A. Same research time, same modeling time, same flight model coding time, etc.
