Kh38. hammer - brimstone

so the next update kh38 and hammer get a ranger buff to remain competitive vs new spaas… but brimstone completley fine with laser guidance and short range… u need to kep the lock and fly hught to have visibility to target and for one kiil neet to fly 3-5 km to battlefield vs this spaas good luck… this all nut not balanced and fair… others fire missile from 30+ km and u have time to manoveur and fly low + rafale need buff really? with 77% winrate another balanc buff. Clearly no other nations need buff…

How is this supposed to be ‘balanced’? To people in ground this situation, regardless of the weapon is not balanced at all, Brimstone still useful despite the purposely flaws or conditions Gaijin put it on but in no moment it stopped from destroying targets. It’s the kind of situation of selfishness where the other kid has a better toy than yours but you still have the toy you can play with.

Everything good for the Eurofighter is too advanced for the game.

Except. Its not.

When the best SPAA was a Pantsir and you were only dealing with 1x Pantsir. Then you could make the SAL Brimstone 1s work.

How you are meant to use 15-20km SAL weapons vs IRIS-T SLM, or any of the new stuff coming in this major? Is beyond me.

Given the Typhoon never ever used Brimstone 1 and the KH-38MT was a mockup with no evidence it was ever built.

I think its reasonable to be annoyed by the fact that at a bare minimum. We dont have SAL Brimstone 2s yet, with a reasonable stand-off weapon like GPS Spear-3s.

I like despite the negative feedback from the community about the MT, Gaijin insists on keeping it in the game and continue buffing it.

@Smin1080p_WT and @Stona_WT have not officially acknowledged passing along any feedback from the community.

We need better Community Managers, or they need to start providing better feedback and answers themselves. Being vague and stepping around questions is pathetic.

Talking about that, I’ve tried contact with someone more involved in events involving Russian military technology for any mention of specific Kh-38MT, which I believe is just a designation than an actual weapon.

Returning to the topic, it still can be useful depending on your gameplay style, obviously overwhelming a lot of the times is more suitable than precision strike but doesn’t means is useless, to be more suitable and ‘balanced’ Gaijin could give capability to guide multiple of these in one drop, by a single or multiple laser designators, fantasy stuff but some placeholder to ‘balance’ it if they don’t want to fully introduce beyond visual range strike capability.

Which is something in-game, at least the barebones with the Kh-38ML and the GNSS in a guided missile just makes it easier, as much as I wanted I don’t have any Brimstone carrier at the moment so I can’t test by myself the weapon so I can agree with you, at the moment I’ll not.

@ItsGaryy as much critics should be welcome, in this case don’t crucify the messeger, they simply repeat what Developers want to publicy speak, at the surface level of definition of an Community Manager, they don’t have power of choice in-game decisions.

They are not getting range buffs to their lock range, which is the range that matters and remains 14km until they are nerfed to ~1.5km when LOAL comes to the game.

Kh-38MTs and Hammers will remain non-competitive against new SPAA.

Win rate is irrelevant to this topic.

Nonetheless. How they can continue to justify basically SAL hellfire missiles as being balanced is beyond me, Not sure how many it gets, but even have a larger number of FnF seems to not be that big of a deal with the F-16I getting 8? Spice-250s.

They definetly need to do something

My thread got reasonable support:

The new tactics against SPAA is lobbing GNSS munition from high range, why exactly would the range buff be useless for that?

GNSS is static locking. Outside of hitting an odd SPAA that chooses not to move from spawn, long-range GNSS is not effective.

The best GNSS is with glide bombs from low altitude closer in from behind hills and mountains because you can hit more apt locations rather than trying to predict where tanks will be 1 minute in advance.

Which is exactly what most new SPAAs do since they are about as tall as a house and every step outside of the spawn risks catching a HE to the radar.

Going a bit off topic but somewhat related to the Brimstone (SAL mode): I agree with accurate in-game content, specially the most technical part but at the same time it could show the full potential of an asset it could be the greatest flaws of these. Specially at higher tiers which tend to recieve such changes, most of the main battle tanks, specially decades and decades old modernizations vehicles (e.g. T-80BVM) could suffer from this is some way and unnecessary battle rating changes occur.

Regarding your topic, I’d love to see that Brimstone were something actually useful on your words and I see the reasonable support coming from this quote I said earlier:

Personally I play mostly ground vehicles and experienced both hands of being in paper of close air support, being the target or not being the target at all, and all I see is selfishness (related to the support, not the fact that the weapon is not accurate to the real counterpart, at least not at its full potential) because the neighbor’s grass is always greener.

Which at my perspective do have some basis that “the neighbor’s grass is always greener”, I always complain because the other team have better vehicles at certain battle rating (e.g. France at ground battle rating 7.7)or specific nations has terrible vehicles at determined battle rating (e.g. Great Britain at ground battle rating 7.7, as well, in my opinion one of the worst in-game).

If the Community Managers don’t want to be criticized, they can do the basic of at least acknowledging threads made about the topic. Or even saying that feedback has been passed along to the developers.

Instead they give vague answers, ‘If we had any information to pass along, we would address it’ which is the answer they give to any topic. This doesn’t mean they passed the information along.

I don’t think they ever said that they don’t want or don’t like to be criticized, I’m just saying that critics should be welcome, but don’t put the fault of problems in the game on the guys who just deliver the message, as I said, they can’t make decisions on their own thinking, is up to Developers specially. This can explain the “vague answers”.

  1. Its video game. 2x Nations (maybe 3 now depending on how Spice-250 performs) have an overwhelming advantage over all others in terms of FnF and weapon range. With the Typhoon at the opposite end with both some of the shortest range weapons at top tier and 0 FnF. The fact is 3x nation almost have no CAS to speak of. (especially annoying when 1 of these is almost entirely dependent on CAS for any top tier presence)

  2. There is more to the game than just GRB. Its frustrating as hell when Brimstone 1s are largely a waste of a slot in ARB/ASB on all 4 airframes because of how weak they are. Brimstone 2s might at least be worth running in the air modes.

Typhoon literally never used Brimstone 1. So not only is it in a nerfed state, its also not even historically accurate.

It would be like limiting the Su-30SM to Vikhrs

Then ontop of the lack of FnF, the missiles are underperforming in a number of other ways

The only alternatives for the nations that have EF2Ks is to use AGM65s lol. A subpar munition compared to everything else at top tier.

Literally all they need to do is add “chaff” into tank smoke and model mmw seekers like the IR seekers in game, they dont even model seekers correctly anyways, its all gamified, we get man in the loop weapons like the agm62 and Martel that get fake agm65 seekers already, they could just slap an IR seeker that you can’t look through to the brimstone and call it a day, and if 18 missiles is too much limit it to 12 or 6.

Gaijin’s incompetence at stuff like this is astonishing, like they freeze up at the mmw seeker, but are fine with casually adding SAM systems that have 10 times the range and speed and capability of all current spaa systems without any drastic game mode and map design changes…

A report was submitted for Spice-250. but got rejected.

They recently announced Spear-Glide which would work well as an FnF Spice-250 equivalent.

Spear-3s could be added limited to GPS+SAL for something largely akin to GBU-39s in most respects, with a little extra strength given no FnF

Brimstone 2s could replace the Brimstone 1s in their SAL form, giving us much greater range and speed on SAL weapons. Combine with the massive buffs to IOG outstanding, this would make a big difference

Not a huge benefit for the Typhoon, but even just ARM would go a long way to giving something like the Tornado GR4 meaningful battlefield presence, which it currently lacks.

But they cant twiddle their thumbs on MMW forever

I asked, why they couldn’t limit the amount of FnF Brimstones, and they said its impossible to limit such munitions.

Huh? they limit weapon amounts all the time, the Ka-50 can only carry 2 iglas on one pylon, the 12.7 Mig-29s dont have their r73s, the Iranian F-14 is limited to 4 F-90s instead of 6, almost all WW2 bombers have limited bomb loads, they limit the F-5T to 2 pythons instead of 4, the MIG-21 Bison to 2 instead of 4 r73, etc…
