sounds totally fair and unbiased that a missile built by one of the best defence corporations in the world is significantly worse than the one designed by russia only a few years later.
Im all for critiquing the french but they have good tech, Russia was buying military equipment from them before their SMO in ukraine after all
Basically
The main “”““counter””“” to AASM is the fact that your target might be dead by the time the missile arrives
That problem is almost non existent on KH. Other than that, it’s a bit easier to intercept indeed, but not everyone can (RIP US, UK, Israel, Italy and Japan)

Also, I rarely see anyone playing France, and when I do, its a few to a team. Meanwhile entire teams can be made up of Soviets. So the likelyhood of at least 1 KH-38 slinger, let alone mutliple is much higher than encountering a Rafale or M2KD RMV

1986 missile vs 2015 missile its not very fair is it

why are you guys yapping so much. x 38 weak, need x 59. (and I forgot we must have kinzhal for 2 spawn points)

They can still make a faster missile. Iirc hammer is more of a kit for bombs, like a much more expensive JDAM, than a standalone AGM like the Kh-38 (idk for sure, @dedale_stargate can correct me if I’m wrong)
insert caughing baby vs hydrogen bomb meme here

you may be somewhat right, but you have to remember that minor nations players (like france) are often of higher skill
Yeah. Of course, but given how easy KH-38s are to use, they can be spammed off by anyone and get kills. Especially as they dont need to worry about Pantsirs like the Rafale might
moreso it’s about getting enough SP for those
SLAM, AGM-88E/-ER, SiAW
Maverick is also underperforming in impact velocity. They currently have it as basically reaching 0 speed at max range when it should be impacting at ~250mph IIRC

Soviets have some decent MBTs and IFVs, they arent exactly struggling in that regard.
Isn’t SLAM subsonic too? The rest are all good options though
true but doesnt mean that every update us minor nations need to be left in the trenches

i’m not too familiar with JDAM, but i think that’s indeed the most comparable
You are indeed correct : AASM is just a bomb with a guidance kit strapped in the front and a propulsion kit strapped to the rear

SDB II would be more comparable
Only reason why I think the Typhoon is doing as well as it is. Italy, Britain and especially Germany are so use to making the Tornado work in an environment of F-15s, F-16s ,Gripens and Su-34s. That now they have a decent airframe, even limited to much the same laser guided wepaons, they can just slap the other teams silly

i’d be lying if i said i needed skill to use those tbh X)
JDAM is just control surface kit strapped onto mk82/83/84 bomb with GPS guidance section

Appears to be an early one at NMUSAF
