Been firing them on dev well outside of lock on range. Taken out a few of the new AAs with Gripen that way.
AGM-65s should only have a max range of 15-20km.
Lock ranges have been increased to 30km.
People had more than enough chances to simmer down and keep it civil.
It was a mess for quite a lot of the month it was up for.
The volunteer moderators have no interest in having to constantly lock and clean up the same threads every time someone throws a fit. And they shouldn’t have to.
I appreciate they are volunteers. But as I said if someone wants to act in bad faith and get a topic closed they can by creating disharmony on that post.
Gaijin didn’t want to acknowledge the issue so the mods just started quoting sanctioning actions but not to the instigators they closed the whole topic.
If you can’t see the flaw in that I don’t know what to tell you
From my screwing around just now, from sufficient altitude and speed I am getting hits from launches at 25km from AGM 65 at times.
I do not know if you have used either, but it is on parity with AASM for how effectively it can acquire a target from a point launch in my experience at the ranges they are employed. At present, Kh 38 and AASM are still limited by the requirement to get a point lock. This is at most 30km, and if we’re being honest generally around 25km. Only the gps/laser guided variants are not requiring this.
One person gets temp banned.
It wasn’t one person causing it…
As I said insufficient moderation, there are too many topics/pages discussions for the volunteer mod team to manage.
If they have GPS (which they both do) they should be able to be fired using CCRP without a point lock
Yeah, that’s not how it works. Point locks are required. It requires a point lock, it is then using the gnss/gps simulacrum (I assume, I’ve not found evidence one way or the other yet) until it reaches the tracking distance, at which point if the target is on the point lock, it begins tracking.
They manage it fine when people keep it civil.
And this isn’t the place to even bring this up again. Unless you want to start the toxicity all over again here.
KH-38ML had loal since they added it , i was able to fire it from behind a mountain , fly high once the missile gets close n lock the target 5-10 sec before it hits.
This is not LOAL. There is no self targeting. It is loosed and lofts on its path to the designated target point, assuming the laser is turned off. If it is turned on, the missile goes directly for the designated target point. The IOG of KH38ML facilitates it being launched at the target point, and upon it reaching the terminal phase, you can enable your laser to guide it far more accurately to the target.
There’s no “lock on” here outside of the missile following the laser designator. This capacity is on most missiles that have laser guidance and IOG/GPS. It is a glorified reacquisition of the laser. Applicable to bombs as well that have the combination of required guidance methods, provided the bomb can still see the laser.
yea you are right , but we have had this feature on the kh38ml since its release right ?.
Yes. Just like many other missiles. Arguably even the missiles with only laser guidance provided they don’t just explode upon losing the laser, they can sometimes reacquire it, but they obviously lack the long travel period prior to lasing the target.
The change means nothing cause new SPAA exist that fire out to 40 - 80km.
Also the fact your post implies [indirectly claims] Brimstones are IR locking is wild.
Your post also claim USA, Israel, and Germany play with USSR most of the time which is false.
Idk man it still should be addresed by glowjob. I never seen a thread with 9k+ replies. Glapblapjob ofc pretends like topic never existed while its just impossible to not see that big topic
Sry i m actually dumb xD. Later on the topic theres a guy that explained that LOAL doesnt work atleast for the time being
I will edit my post tho to dont make people lied lmao
Only if the target didn’t move after launch and before it got within 12km.
USSR is not being buffed BTW.
Kh-38MT carriers are objectively inferior to the new SPAA being added.
With USA and Israel getting the best SPAA in the game, Germany getting the 2nd best.
China and Sweden tied for 3rd.
Any post claiming Kh-38MT will still be OP after all these new SPAA don’t realize that Kh-38MT users have to start from the runway now just like everyone else; Kh-38MT’s currently being OP on live server [a fact of course] will stop being the case when major update releases and people get these SPAA.
Any post claiming that Kh-38MT’s limited 12km lock range [1.5km if Gaijin ever changes Hammer and Kh-38MT] is larger than the 12 - 16km of the missiles, and 40 - 80km of datalink is just wrong…
Edit:
U replying to me?
That one is replying to you, yes.
Your post is only accurate if it doesn’t account the SPAA USA, Israel, and Germany are getting.
However, the new SPAA out-ranges all CAS in the game.
And if you play the Su-30SM the same way people are currently playing it [high altitude stand-off] you’ll die to Spyder, SLAMRAAM, and/or SLM before getting your missiles off.
