Like seriously, it’s got a huge camera on it so that it can visually lock onto targets at longer distances and offer a lock for the visual homing guided Type 91 missile.
Obviously at night this missile was crap because it would not be able to visually guide to its target in dark conditions hence why the infra red version called Type 91 Kai came later which also gave the Type 93 SAM a night time capability as well.
Guidance: Infra-Red
When you realise that gaijin hasn’t even done basic research before adding this missile to the game. Infra-Red missile doesn’t need a huge asss camera on top of a vehicle to be used…
A quick simple research would show its visual image homing guided
Knowing the cruising speed (when the rocket propulsion engine is still running), we can roughly calculate the speed on the trajectory (taking into account the fall in the maneuver), from the video you can understand the angular speed. It comes out around 30-35G.
Spoiler
The red line roughly corresponds to what we see, the blue one should be if Gaijin’s data is correct
According to known data, the cruising speed of the Type 91 SAM is Mach 1.9 or 646.55 m/s. The angular velocity of the rocket in the video is about 32°/s. Taking into account the manner, in poor conditions, we can expect a drop in line speed during main engine operation to about ~ 520 m / s.
Through the formula n = v*ω/[g], where: n is G-force v is the speed in m/s ω is the angular velocity (requires conversion to radians) g is the gravitational acceleration on Earth
We get numbers around 30G
In addition, in life the Stinger has a greater overload, up to about 18G in a steady turn. The value of 10G is given for the most difficult missile trajectory when the target interferes with SAM as much as possible by induced drag.
Guidance is IR only, no ARH missiles over 10 km will be implemented, Type 81C will probably perform a little better than Chaparral even if implemented.
I wouldn’t be so sure. Type 11 missiles are very similar and can be operated with KCU, so I don’t think it’s impossible Type 81 ARH missiles are too. Only issue is there is nothing directly confirming that (that I would know of at least).
Does that mean you don’t know if a Type 81C can launch missiles at KCU? If that’s what you mean, there is a picture of a Type 81C KCU on the site here, and the button on the grip says “発射:fire”. 81式短距離地対空誘導弾システム
Also, I noticed when looking at the suggestions for the Type 11, the Type 11 KCU has a similar shape to the IFF antenna on the Type 93. And of course there is a “発射:fire” button. 11式短距離地対空誘導弾システム
Well, since the suggestions have been passed, everything I am doing here is late.
I meant I’m not completely sure if the with the KCU ARH missiles can be operated without the need of seperate radar. I already assume this is the case, so I think it will be added with a choice of ARH missiles, but this is not clear.
I wish Gaijin would move the TK-X to the same branch as the new prototype so that the new vehicle is not the top vehicle and its research point requirement can be reduced.
This is how i would love to have the prototypes and production tanks in a seperated branch.
I also have added the forth TK-X because it is unique enough that it should be in the game.
You get a total of four 11.7 tanks just like how other nations like France has four Leclerc, seems fair to me.
Also four 11.0 tanks by adding the two Type 90.
