JAS-39E for Sweden

@Gunjob Could you take a look at this report? Community Bug Reporting System

A this moment only reaches Mach 1.02 with just 6 missiles and 20 minutes of fuel

but the channel loss is 1.5% in gripen C and Gripen E intakes are identical so i think the channel loss should be smaller

Its not really indentical

What is the Max speed at sea level with full afterburner

The way air flow goes to the engine is different from the gripen c

1400+ max 1500 if i can guess

it cannot be that different from the gripen C

The fuselage body is flatter to reduce rcs and to make less drag which reduces diameter to the engine if i guess right

When engines are tested by manufacturers it’s tested on a test bench and the engine get all the air it could ever want. When mounted into an aircraft the amount of air the engine gets is reduced due to the intakes. How much less air it gets depends on the aircraft but i think in game it’s usually somewhere around 5-15% loss of thrust (with some extreme cases outside of those numbers).

This applies to every aircraft in the game, none of them have the same thrust as mentioned by the engine manufacturers.

Gripen E currently has a channel loss of about 5% .

okay

The newer engine requires more air and higher pressures to operate at max efficiency, if you give that engine the same intakes it’s going to lose more thrust comparatively.

I hope the same, because even the Kfir that has less thrust and TWR than the Gripen, which has side air intakes and lets in less air than the Gripen, has a higher increase of +35.2%, and the Gripen only 11%.

lovely stuff

No, worse due to increased wing loading not being displaced by lift & TWR

is gripen E still able to achieve TWR 1+ with 9 missles and full fuel?

I think it afterburner thrust should be faster like 9600-9700 kgf
9993 kgf to 9490 kgf lost 503 kgf like 5% too much for that small and super slim

Exactly

so yes ?
