I read somewhere gripen got 10-20% less induced drag because of the redesigned body and wing so that bit of a increased wing load shouldnt make it worse, or the performance loss would be not much worse than the c model in turn fight

What’s the comparison here? If you compare 39C to 39E with 2x missiles and the same weight in fuel, then I expect the 39E to be a bit better. However you have to consider that the 39E has 30% higher fuel capacity, so if you compare “50% fuel” on both, then the 39E will carry more fuel… Also the minor increase in TWR will in-game be mostly offset by the extra weight of the extra 3 missiles you can carry, so it’ll feel mostly the same. In clean configuration the 39E should be a bit better is all, due to the slightly higher TWR and larger wing
Reading that double rack bug report, do you know if this also applies to AMRAAM?
That doesn’t make sense at first glance, the E is larger and bulkier than the C version.

TWR is Thrust to weight ratio, the thrust is ~30% higher yes, but the weight is also ~30% higher
20% (before channel losses) is a decent increase, but nothing insane given the base thrust being so low on the F404

Afterburner thrust should be around 9700-9800 kgf I think with that small and super slim jet
