Too fast ares)
Yea yea xP
Posting an F-1 with the T-2 3-piece windshield because gaijin still hasn’t corrected it on the tech tree T-2
So whats up with AAM-4 these days?
Is it still worse than the Aim 120A in every way or does it have some advantages?
Tbh im not even sure. From what ive heard others say and videos i watched (i havent played enough to make my own judgment) is that it turns sharper off the rails, of course bigger warhead/ explosive mass, apparently can glide better in the air longer? And perhaps better at targets near the ground.
I am a big fan of SAM/SPAA. At the moment I have found that the missile speed indicated in the Tan-SAM card is incorrect, for an IR missile the speed should be 2.4 Mach (~820-830 m/s), and the indicated speed of 955 m/s (~2.8 Mach) in reality is achieved only for the Kai missile (14 km) with an active-radar homing head. If you issue a Tan-SAM phased array radar + LOAL system + 14 km Kai missile, then bringing the missiles to the real speed will not worsen the parameters of the complex.
The missile what we actually has in game is “Kai” missile with IR + TV guidance which got new engine
Not only ARH missile was created as “Kai” missile
even the spreadsheet is confusing, tried to crop this together highlighting the differences to the Aim-120s
Wow, I didn’t know that, but shouldn’t the increased missile speed to 955 m/s due to the engine upgrade have increased the missile’s range? Certainly not up to 14 km like the radar one (the tip of the IR-TV missile is more blunt and obviously has worse aerodynamics).
For example 11-12 km.
Yes and in game it is ~10km, not 7km as for previous missiles
I was able to find more or less detailed data on Tan-SAM only in one Russian-language book. The point about the phased array radar is especially interesting. It is indicated that the radar scans an area of 360 at a speed of 1 revolution per 6 seconds. The angles of the antenna itself are indicated as 110 degrees horizontally and 20 degrees vertically. The point with 20 degrees for the phased array radar seems very, very suspicious - the fact is that Pantsir has the same search radar system, 30 degrees of fast instant scanning, 60 and 80 degrees are detected slowly over several beam passes. (about 6-8 seconds)
It is clear that the Tan-SAM search radar is also a target acquisition radar and, like the Pansir, can simultaneously capture 6 targets in a 110-degree sector. Perhaps the radar also controls the Kai radar missiles like the Pansir S1, or they are controlled via a separate radio channel. Unfortunately, I could not find more detailed information on the Internet than in this book, and of course I would like to read the Tan-SAM manual (it is available on the Pansir S1)
I’ve missed that manual. There are good results with search words “Report No. 15n”.

Type 1 Fighter = Ki-43
Type 98 light bomber = Ki-32
Type 99 reconnaissance and assault plane = Ki-51
Type 99 twin-engined light bomber = Ki-48
Type 93, heavy bomber = Ki-1
Type 97 heavy bomber = Ki-21
Type 100 heavy bomber = Ki-49
I had predicted some time ago that the Ki-49 was able to carry 2x 500kg just from looking at how spacious the bomb bay is, glad to see I was right. The 100kg addition is also great.
With the 2x 500kg loadout I might bring them out in ground RB.
inshallah they will raise it by a whole br
The japan curse.
thats my report😳
o7 thanks for your service
I need to learn Japanese, I have many bug reports I’d like to do with the cursory English information I have, but Japanese sources are far more authoritative…
