Japanese Tiger, Heavy Tank N6

What???

You went full schizo thinking just because other nations got tanks they bought from others, and suddenly you think adding the Ratte and shit is justified. Yes the Japanese Tiger is fun, and so are most other vehicles, by your logic we should remove 99% of the vehicles because theyre fun.

WTF are you on about? You must have lost the plot! Can you even read what I wrote?

I never said that the P.1000 Ratte is justified to be added to the game, I said “at that rate”/with that logic it would be justified, highlighting how absurd ‘a vehicle being fun’ is of a justification for it being added into a historically accurate game.

I also never said that we should remove vehicles for being fun, where the hell did you get that from!?

Let me explain step by step the conversation if you got a bit confused:

  1. I ask why a vehicle that Japan never received, had, crewed, or used, or is Japanese in any other way is in the game for Japan.
  2. Some clown responds with “it was added because it is fun” (not aware that Gaijin has strict rules for what can and can’t be added and adds historical vehicles, not whatever the hell they want for fun).
  3. I show how silly that “because it is fun” justification is by showing that with such a weak justification we could add anything we want into the game and ruin it.
  4. You somehow think I’m a “defensive Germany main” that is mad that you want to fix historical inaccuracies (I literally didn’t say anything about that).
  5. I’m confused as to WTF you’re on about and where you got that from.
  6. You somehow think I want the Ratte to be added and that I want to remove every single fun vehicle because I hate fun or something.

Japan paid for it, therefor owned it. While itdidn’t end up in service that just puts it in the same spot as many other prototypes. Japan also did evaluate it before buying the vehicle.

They don’t really. The forum has rules what we can suggest, but Gaijin simply does what they see fit. Best example would be the F-16AJ, which was removed as a suggestion for being paper, but later added by Gaijin in a configuration that wasn’t even paper, but completely made up.
The real reason or “rule” of why things are done is probably “because they profit Gaijin”

Not sure about the rest though, since I didn’t qute follow this whole argument.

Yes, of course they owned it on paper, but that (IMO) is not enough of a justification and is not the same as a prototype that didn’t see service. This is because prototypes are designed and built by said country for use by its military (e.g. Japanese prototype tank Chi-Ri, which is Japanese but didn’t enter service). A German tank that didn’t enter service with Japan either has less right to be in the game than a Japanese prototype that didn’t enter Japanese service.

I mean, Germany could have “sold” a Maus tank to Bulgaria, with all of the paperwork done and everything, but they don’t deliver it (because they can’t) and continue using it themselves. Do you think it would make sense to add a Bulgarian Maus in that situation? I don’t think so, because apart from ‘legally being Bulgarian on paper’, it was never actually Bulgarian, neither by design, usage, or real ownership.

Yeah, Gaijin sort of has rules and standards, but just changes them and breaks them as they see fit. The F-16AJ IMO was a silly addition. There are of course many others which are very questionable additions (including this one), but it is simply wrong to say that this is a perfectly fine addition which conforms to all standards perfectly, because it really doesn’t. That’s why I raise the point of why it is even in the game, but I guess we can answer it with “Gaijin do what they want, even if it doesn’t make sense”.

That goes without saying. But I do think a tank Japan did nothing but pay for is a perfect candidate for a premium a player does nothing but pay for.

It also leaves more unique vehicles for the tree that, let’s face it, actually needs all it can get.

My last bit of hope has me believe it’ll end up being changed to a Thai F-16A Block 15 OCU.

Sure, it wasn’t actually in Japan, but as a premium I don’t think that is a big issue.
Japan paid for it, they owned it. If I buy a house in another country it is still mine and I can use it as I please. Or if I take a vacation I still own my car despite it being at home.

Haha true, I guess it fits the purchase-only type better than most others.

Yeah if this would be in the tech tree that would be so much worse.

That’s a good way to fix mistakes, rebrand them into something better. There are several other vehicles in game that would benefit from this.

Yeah but there’s a bit of a difference here: you can easily travel to your new house and when you are on holiday, you’ve already used your car and you can easily return home to where you usually live to continue using what has always truly been yours. It was impossible to get the ‘Japanese’ Tiger to Japan because there was no safe land route there and the Allies blocked the route by sea. A better analogy would be like you buy a rock on the moon, officially it is yours, but you’ll never realistically be able to get it or use it and it realistically still belongs to the moon.

They did evaluate it in Germany, so it’s not as out of reach.

Anyways, I’d leave it at this now. We pretty much agree on all but one minor technicality. No need to drag this out further if we can end it on a good note like this.

Still waiting for the other German tanks Japan bought from them.

I like this example lol basically buy the home in another country, rent it or let someone borrow it to live in it cuz they need a place to stay. Basically what happened to the Tiger. Japan bought but let Germans borrow it cuz they needed it for war.

At least Gaijin added this tank the correct way as a premium which soon worked its way to the marketplace vehicle. I paid $70s for it in the market some years ago, currently there is 20 total left and its at $102. If I still didn’t have it, I’m willing to spend $100 for it.

If only theyd remove the hull S-Mine launchers so we could actually traverse the gun…since it never had those hull launchers IRL lmao

These launchers are the worst, the amount of shoots I missed because the gun just says “No sorry my dude” is ridiculous
