Its among my best performing 13.7, if not the best.
Although on paper I would consider it just ok, it’s just the way I play it + AESA radar gives me quite decent and consistent results.

It is really just ok imo
It’s not particularly fast and the missile kit is not the greatest
Lack of HMS can get you killed too
Luckily everything else is great otherwise
Which the AESA TWS somewhat offsets. In situations where you know the enemy is there but you don’t know exactly where, its often better. The vertical scan is also very fast and you can use it as a panic search mode by rolling around with it. Lack of HMS is more annoying when facing 2+ people pushing you at once.
Also, it’s very rare that you miss a radar contact, so you can make great use of the IR missiles from high above against people that are unaware of you.

But it still doesn’t change the fact that it’s an objective disadvantage not to have one.
The workarounds are just not good enough to be able to fully compensate imo.

I haven’t touched the f2a in quite a while but its still a pretty solid platform considering how good the aam 3 are at range and the aam4 despite having a worse isp compared to the buffed aim 7m which is incorrect since the missile was made to replace it and with the documentation we have on the aam 4b its supposed to have a more powerful booster(both version of the aam 4 use the same rocket motor) that is supposed to be better than the aim 120a at least
Currently i would say the f15c is better because you have more leverage with your aam4 plus you get aim 120a as a bonus
Though you lose your situational awareness by not having a aesa radar
Unfortunately nowadays the AIM-120 is just better than AAM-4 in every way besides warhead
So honestly no point carrying AAM-4 anymore really

Sea Harrier is the example of what 13.0s should be: Old airframes with AMRAAMs.
its significantly worse than all other 13.0s equipped with Fox-3s
Straight downgrade to the AV-8B Plus in almost every metric
Which is why the best ones need to be 13.3 instead.
As for AV-8B Plus… One circle then dead is not notably better than stand-off only.
Both are equal in simulator anyway.
